No one's gonna read this shit but in case anyone cares for another Shadow update, we just came from a check up appointment at a new vet because I wanted a second opinion. 1) Shadow needs to be on pain meds, and what he was prescribed from the old vet is a fucking sedative. 2) The last vet never disclosed to us that a fuck ton of Shadow's teeth were broken off by the accident or that his blood work showed that he's anemic. 3) Shadow has lost 5 pounds in the last month. I am desperately spoon feeding him a liquefied blend of 3 different wet foods in an attempt to put weight back on him. He is literally skin and bone. 4) The wire in his jaw is poorly placed and causing him undue pain on top of the pain of having a broken jaw and is ALSO set completely wrong and majorly crooked which is now unfixable because the bones are already calcifying. 4) Shadow's one remaining eye is detached at the retina. He is completely blind. 5) There is a possibility that head trauma is contributing to his massive personality change in addition to constant pain and adjusting to being blind. The first vet told my family that everything was completely fine. How are any of these in any definition FINE??? Is the bare minimum of not dead equivalent to fine now? I could see the new vet getting more frustrated as our appointment went on because of the lack of care and communication the old vet gave us. I am so fucking angry and upset and hurt. I have no idea what quality of life Shadow is going to have. I'm constantly screaming into the void, and no one seems to give a flying fuck. Here it is for the 500th time, Shadow really fucking needs constant care, we have yet another appointment with this competent vet in 2 weeks to get that fucking wire out. 😩 One Eye McGee. Shadow looks a lot better than he did last week though! He's still been going to the vet a lot, and got his feeding tube out today. I'm really grateful to everyone who has shared and donated to Shadow's fundraiser so far!
