*  madara didn’t know much of nazuna, nor valkyrie as a whole, during his second year and the war (beyond their themeing, and the way nazuna behaved in the past, which just felt all too doll-like for him, earning him madara occasionally calling him ‘pinocchio’ in an almost chastising way). what he did know, however, was that they were very much victims in the same way that kanata and ryuseitai were. however, madara had always felt that he and nazuna were similar in the regard that they weren’t fully involved with the war, yet still were in the blast zone and suffered their own pains and casualties from it. he considers MaM and ra*bits to be “sibling units,” since they both came from the war’s effects on their respective units. *  madara’s joking at kuro in shinsengumi aside, however, madara was genuinely very pleased to come back from his various trips to see nazuna no longer being shu’s “doll.” ra*bits was also a welcome addition to the school’s roster, and he couldn’t help but feel a lot of pride seeing that one of his schoolmates was taking such ready steps in improving themselves and growing as a person. in a way, he was envious of nazuna for a long time, because of this. *  nazuna is one of the extremely few people that madara will openly discuss matters of the war with. it’s this openness about the past that resulted in their most frequent meeting spots at ES being the cafeteria before heading to their main destination. nazuna doesn’t like to drag madara to rhythm link unless it’s absolutely necessary, on the chance keito might be around. madara, however, is an idiot, and will frequently stop by rhythm link anyway, because damned if that keito is gonna get in his way of loving nazuna! *  (featuring yours and cry’s kohaji)  while madara would usually be worried about kohaku’s heart with a partner, like any overbearing parent would be, there was very little of that when it came to hajime, because he knew that “nazuna-san would always raise his kids right!”  madara’s trust in nazuna’s judgement and sense of responsibility and very airtight, and he trusts nazuna to talk him down or give him feedback on his feelings, even when he doesn’t understand them himself.

“Madara, I like this —us, all of this so much.” He doesn’t want it to end, could they stay like this forever? Forget everything, forget the world and just stay like this. That was probably a childish thought wasn’t it? A childish selfish one. “I never want it to end,” he had to say it —he didn’t want to hold back on feelings with Madara anymore.
