"Wait," Garrus began as him and Shepard approached the stadium. A giant Blasto Live sign was displayed on all of the screens at the entrance, and Garrus was less than excited to be at this show. "We're here to see Blasto Live?" he questioned as he stopped dead in his tracks just before the entrance. "I thought you said we were doing something fun?"
"This is fun," Shepard replied as she gently tugged on his arm. "Besides, no one is going to expect us to be here, so we can do whatever we want." By that, she meant that they didn't have to conceal their relationship while they were here. The issue was that the Alliance had rules against fraternization, especially between a CO and her subordinate. Knowing that, they would steal little moments of intimacy when no one else was looking. A gentle but quick kiss or a light caress was the most they usually did when no one was watching. Anything else risked the crew catching on to their relationship. Shepard and Garrus both doubted that anyone would tattle, but still, it wasn't worth being reprimanded.
Shepard smiled as she once again pulled on Garrus's arm, this time with a more intentional pull, dragging him into the stadium.
This event drew pretty large crowds, and Shepard figured they could hide amongst other people and not be noticed. As far as she knew, no one from the squad was here, and neither were any higher ups who might see something she didn't want them to see. This would give them a chance to be more affectionate than they usually were, and she looked forward to it.
Their seats were somewhat high up in the stadium, people packed closely together around them. There appeared to be a lot of other couples, but not a lot of humans with turians. Still, Shepard continued to their seats with a soft grin on her face. Once they made it to their destination, she turned to face Garrus, her smile widening.
"See?" she began. "No one will know we're here. Trust me." With that, she got up onto the tips of her toes to press her lips to his mouth. Kissing a turian was different than a human, but she was used to it at this point and had no complaints.
The show began with a loud musical introduction, the crowd cheering loudly as they waited for Blasto to come out. After the loud fanfare, he came out, one tentacle waving at the guests as he approached the marker on the stage. He started some sort of intro, but Shepard wasn't paying attention. Instead, she put her back to Garrus and grabbed his arms to wrap around her waist. She could feel his anxiety and hesitation to be touching her as much as he was in a public place, but after a moment that anxiety faded. He figured he might as well enjoy this while he could. Being close to her in public like this gave him a rush. It was knowing that he was doing something he shouldn't be doing. It was thrilling, to say the least.
After the intro, the show began. Blasto grabbed several large weapons and started some sort of monologue about being a hanar Spectre. It was interesting but also kind of strange to see him live. Shepard had watched a few of his movies, but thought they were mostly kind of silly. A hanar Spectre? That's got to be as strange as a human Spectre, Shepard supposed.
Blasto reenacted a scene from Blasto 6, complete with other cast members from the film reciting their famous lines. The crowd roared with excitement as it continued, only getting quiet as Blasto left the stage for an intermission. Garrus hadn't been paying much attention to the show, more focused on gently nuzzling Shepard's neck as he continued to hold her in an embrace. Just then, a romantic song started playing and the Jumbotron screens came on. The camera operator started focusing on couples, with the words "Kiss Cam" on the bottom of the screen. When it panned to a couple, they would laugh and kiss to entertain the crowd. Neither Shepard or Garrus was watching where the kiss cam was going, until suddenly they appeared on the screens.
The moment Shepard realized the camera was focused on them, she gasped and quickly broke away from Garrus, both hands shooting up to cover her face as she shied away from the camera. Garrus stumbled backwards, almost falling into the people who were standing behind him. This was not good. Their secret relationship was suddenly not so secret anymore. The crowd laughed, the camera operator saying something about Shepard and Garrus's reaction to being recorded, but the pair wasn't listening.
"What just happened?" the turian asked nervously. "I thought you said we would be safe here," he continued. Shepard began to walk away from their seats and into the stairwell, gesturing for him to follow her. "What do we do now?" The turian formerly known as Archangel writhed his hands together as he waited for Shepard to face him.
She turned around once they were deep into the stairwell, and Garrus noticed how flushed her cheeks were, but didn't comment on it. "Yeah, well, I didn't know they were going to point a camera right at us," Shepard said. She let out a long sigh as she considered what they should do next. "I think we're good as long as that wasn't broadcasted anywhere." Her heart was racing, worried that she was going to get a message any minute about her inappropriate behavior with Garrus. "I think we should go," she added. With that, she made her way down the stairs, head down as she pondered what the consequences of this event were going to be. Would she be reprimanded? Would Garrus? Would he be removed from her ship? Only time would tell.
