Fernando Pessoa, The Book of Disquiet
I have to feel nothing I have to put it away it has to go away put it back put it back I cant I want it gone I sont want to feel all I can feel is bad its all so bad I dont want to feel I dont want it
Bonnie needs so much attention and we don't give her enough attention why did I thibk i could do this why did I think we could have a puppy I cant even hold down a fucking job when all im doing is school I cant even function why did I think I could do this we don't even do her training every day why did I think this would work everything is falling apart I cant function but I have to why did I think I could do this
Being kind doesn't mean having no boundaries. Being kind doesn't mean never saying no. Being kind doesn't mean never speaking up. Being kind doesn't mean agreeing to everything. Being kind doesn't mean sacrificing your own happiness to be there for others. Let's stop idealizing unhealthy self sacrificing behavior as good. Let's stop defining kindness by how much you're wiling to suffer.

Fuck I also have to do the litter box today and thats gonna take me an hour bc its on carpet because I'm fucking stupid and awful
here’s what you have to understand when you read people with adhd describing their symptoms and find them relatable. to have a diagnosis of adhd these things have to impair us from living everyday life
when we say “my adhd makes me think everyone in the grocery store hates me,” that feeling is problematic enough to make us avoid shopping, or break down in the store, or behave in ways that alienate us socially. when we say “i can’t make myself do things,” it’s problematic enough to make us drop out of school, or not do taxes, or not refill medication that prevents us from being in pain
everyone feels these things from time to time, but if it’s interfering with living your life then it’s worth consulting a doctor
I needed this to be a homework day but now its not and I didnt do any fucking homework yesterday because I had to deal with an emergency all night and then I didn't sleep at all because it was just endless nightmares because I was already so upset. So now for my only remaining homework day I am running on less than 3 hours of sleep and I have to take a couple hours in the middle of it to go pick up a fucking car and its going to cost money to do that and I knew this was going to happen. I fucking knew this would happen it always does when we do too many things in one trip everybody crashes. and I'm always the one who fixes things and I can't anymore its literally killing me
Id kill myself if it wouldn't take everybody i love with me. Literally everyone. Because everyone in the world seems to be dependent on me for everything but I cant do it all I cant do any of it.

It has helped me so much to realize that fronting is fluid. You don’t need to know exactly who’s fronting all the time, and many times it will be rapidly changing layers of passive influence, body control, and presence from your headmates. For myself, it’s rare for there to be a clear division where I’m 100% sure that alter A is fronting, and alter B isn’t. It’s a bunch of fluid layers where each headmate is constantly moving between different levels of co-consciousness.
You don’t have to know exactly who’s fronting all the time. You have permission to exist how you do, even when it’s confusing and you can’t figure out who you are. You are allowed to exist how you do, even when you’re all blurred together.
Children who feel they cannot engage their parents emotionally often try to strengthen their connection by playing whatever roles they believe their parents want them to. Although this may win them some fleeting approval, it doesn’t yield genuine emotional closeness. Emotionally disconnected parents don’t suddenly develop a capacity for empathy just because a child does something to please them.Â
People who lacked emotional engagement in childhood, men and women alike, often can’t believe that someone would want to have a relationship with them just because of who they are. They believe that if they want closeness, they must play a role that always puts the other person first.
— Lindsay C. Gibson, Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: How to Heal from Distant, Rejecting, or Self-Involved Parents (2015)
