I’m not sure what I’ll do, but— well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale.
F. Scott Fitzgerald (via quotemadness)
I’ve always protected myself when it comes to love. And maybe that’s the problem. By not letting myself get hurt now, it ripples into much bigger pain later.
Carolyn Mackler, The Future of Us (via wordsnquotes)
Si no tuviĂ©ramos miedo, te aseguro que ahora estarĂas en mi cama llenándome de besos en vez de estar distanciados.

I’m a leader. Not a follower. Unless it’s a dark place, then fuck that shit you’re going first.

Appreciate everything. Appreciate it when you go out on the street and the light is green, appreciate it when someone gives you a small candy, appreciate every compliment you receive, appreciate the love that people give you, appreciate every breath that someone takes before they tell you something because they took it for you. Appreciate. Even the bad things because there’s no better thing than balance and balance don’t exist without bad things. Appreciate your balance. Appreciate your life. Appreciate yourself.

I live for the little moments like the sun shinning through your window, the laugh of an innocent child, the smell of a good autumn morning and the kiss of a happy dog. Because at the end of the day you realize that those little moments aren’t so little after all.
Annedi Bergsma (via my-bundle-of-thoughts)
When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying “You’re too this, or I’m too this.” That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.
Ram Dass (via wordsthat-speak)
I think that’s one of the biggest signs a person has matured - knowing how to appreciate things that matter to others, even if they don’t matter very much to you.

Someone once told me to always live for the little things in life. Live for 5am sunrises and 5pm sunsets where you’ll see colours in the sky that don’t usually belong. Live for road trips and bike rides with music in your ears and the wind in your hair. Live for days when you’re surrounded by your favourite people who make you realise that the world is not a cold, harsh place. Live for the little things because they will make you realise that this is what life is about, this is what it means to be alive.

Once, I kissed someone and I’m afraid it ruined the world. I’ve learned it’s not what you do with the knife—it’s how you hold it after. But how do you hold something like that? Something that never stops baring its teeth; a voiceless dog, all bite, no bark.
Yasmin Belkhyr, from “Surah Al-Fatiha,” Bone Light (via lifeinpoetry)
She reminds herself that she doesn’t exist and all is normal.    All is fine.

Everything is in a state of balance, between two polarities, the negative & the positive, only peace of mind brings harmony.
