Queerness is so beautiful.
When you break it down, queerness is simply about being happy as your true self in a world that tries its hardest to stop you.
So do what makes you happy. Be weird, artsy, ambitious, colourful, silly, passionate, nerdy. Tell the people around you how much you love them, and bask in the love they return. Love is infinite.
And it will help those who are not safe enough yet to live as themselves, to see you. If you can, march, donate, create, write, but the most important thing is to simply exist.
Being happy is the most radical thing we can do.
I have been having the time of my life in Rivals S2. It’s silly, it’s sexy, it’s camp - the second episode was like a delightful French farce. And I was thrilled when we got Monica’s lesbian arc.
Then they killed her.
I mean, from a narrative standpoint it was great television, but I seriously cannot believe they buried a gay in the year of our lord 2026.
We almost never get good sapphic side arcs.
Give me my lesbians!!!
(And actually just any queer characters at all)
For all those who felt that the ending of S3 of Good Omens (before the epilogue) wasn’t explicitly romantic enough:
My parents, who have not seen the first two seasons or read the book, happened to be in the room for the last 30 mins of the film. When I mentioned that a lot of people were upset about the lack of a kiss etc. they both said that the romance was clear to them.
Even to a straight couple who haven’t been desperately watching for any tiny hand movement or subtle smile, Crowley and Aziraphale were very obviously in love.
SPOILERS!
I’m not mad about the ending of Good Omens. I think there are some very valid criticisms but for something that only had 90 minutes it is perfectly satisfactory.
Jesus: hell yes! Loved him and found him to be a very relevant and human representation.
While the human AU ending was unexpected, I’m actually glad because I could never quite picture what a relationship between Aziraphale and Crowley would look like after everything they’ve been through. I think there would always have been too much residual pressure on them for true vulnerability (particularly the physical vulnerability that we all wanted so much). They were able to start afresh and they got a happy ending.
As for the hand kiss - well. I wouldn’t have said no to a more passionate one, but again I’ve always struggled to see that level of emotional softness between TV Aziraphale and Crowley. The book versions feel more likely to me for some reason.
A favourite moment: When Satan and God are laughing and joking together. I think this a very interesting message and I can’t wait to think about it a little more.
I’m actually quite happy, all in all.

Okay so here’s something else I didn’t like about season 5 of Stranger Things:
I really wish that Max hadn’t magically healed so quickly after waking up. Like, it was such a good opportunity for a storyline around Max adjusting to the world and her place in the group after becoming disabled. We really don’t have enough action/fantasy stories with disabled characters who are still vital to the plot and all of the escapades.
We did get the Will Byers Journey which can definitely be taken as a metaphor for chronic illness, and a lot of the characters are probably neurodivergent, but there’s always room for more exploration!
Please note that I am not a super hardcore fan of the show so I may have missed some disability rep. I’d love to hear anyone’s readings/theories/headcanons about disability, chronic illness, and neurodivergence in Stranger Things!
Theatre has become such a passion for me in the last year.
I think that it’s a combination of our political state as a society and my becoming disabled (and therefore more isolated) that has caused a need to see live art. Theatre creates connection: between the actors and the audience, between friends, families, and complete strangers. This is intoxicating and so incredibly beautiful.

also to be clear i don't actually think there's anything wrong with enjoying m/m. it's fine. i enjoy some of that myself. I just think any argument that "actually it's secretly feminist to like m/m" immediately falls apart under scrutiny and perhaps instead of playing defense all the time about it, it would maybe be healthier to challenge the ways that misogyny actually flourishes in m/m fan spaces and to acknowledge the fact that the attention m/m gets compared to f/f Is Perhaps A Result Of Misogyny
I think Fleabag is the first tv show I’ve watched that truly encompasses the feeling of having to perform every day, even inside your own head. The “asides to camera” technique is so well used and I absolutely love that Fleabag lies to the camera half the time.
The romance between Fleabag and the Priest is also stunning and painful. The whole “we can’t be together but I still love you and your love has changed me for the better” thing is just…wow.

I have an image in my head of my bedroom taken over by nature. Just huge bowers of wisteria and jasmine hanging from the ceiling, spiders on the walls, ferns and ivy breaking through the floorboards. I want beehives and birds’ nests and butterflies. I want all that life.
If I can’t go outside, can’t chase storms or climb up trees, maybe it could all come to me.

April is here! Time for my seasonal obsession with Glenn Miller…
As much as I love Bridgerton, nothing will ever entertain me quite like Arabella's tendency to adopt stray dogs/maids/chimney sweeps, and Beaumaris calmly accepting his fate as the besotted husband.
"Yes, I'll stay. As long as you like. Forever, if you want."
