Last night, on the hour and day of Jupiter I summoned/formed two magpie spirits to fetch wealth and opportunities for me - just as their living counterparts may do with coins and shiny trinkets.

I really focused in on my energy work and visualisation skills - imagining myself literally moulding them from beak to tail out of energy.

They have names (which I will not share), as well as a small nest of offerings (reminiscent of a money bowl) to return to, where their physical 'vessels' reside. Here, I can place specific goals/desires for them to find me if needed.

They are a fire and air based energy to help ensure quicker results and also because a number of ingredients used were active/warm and I wanted the spell components to meld smoothly. This will mean they might need recharging a bit more often, but I'm happy to take that trade-off for what they'll provide.

I have their candles lit now - last night was their creation, and now I am giving them some extra energy as they set off into the world - and I am excited to see how they fare/how this pans out as it's a little bit different from my usual workings.

Of course, I drew them.

I've started treating myself like I would a dog that's going to chew through the house when it's bored. I walk myself. I seek activities that make my brain feel less like depressed sludge. I ask my body what it needs; I rest, I enjoy rest. I don't see it as a waste or unproductive. I see it as allowing my body to do its job of working better. I lean into appreciating my natural features. I'm a hunk of flesh. I can be ugly. I can decide that ugly is appealing. I can not care. Whatever. I started emphasizing little things that nourish my relationship(s), shelving distractions more, so I can relish the time I have with loved ones. I specifically pursue pleasure--dopamine--not just quick hits from scrolling social media but getting off my ass. Engaging. Cooking myself nice meals and making fucking art, man. Things that make my spirit feel more alive than I have for years. I ask myself what it is I want rather than only doing what I'm supposed to be doing. And it doesn't mean shirk every responsibility, it means recognizing you're one of your fucking responsibilities. It's reordering. I realized I'm going to die happy or unhappy and either way I'm just as dead in a given amount of years, and I choose to die happy and fulfilled.

Everything else can get fucked ad infinitum.

1. By using most AI’s, you are effectively stealing other peoples art, words and thought processes. These are things I don’t want for my craft or my karmic credit.

2. AI is using up natural resources at alarming rates. Wichtes beware: even if you are a technology or digital witch, exploiting and destroying the planet shouldn’t be things you do lightly. There are more resource efficient ways to structure your practice.

3. We all know who makes money on AI and it’s not the good guys. It’s people who destroy our plant in other ways right now. The one’s who quite literally would love to see most of us dead or financially and intellectually enslaved, which kind of brings me to a next point:

3b These are the exact people who relish in the fact that using AI literally makes us dumber, less creative and dependent on them! They weaken our spirits as we talk! There’s studies on this you are welcome to look up for yourself! If witches don’t use our own (critical) thinking skills, who will?

So both within my practice and my regular life, I don’t use AI unless I have to. As a witch, I am aware of my surroundings and the effects of my doing. I inform myself on the consequences certain tools might have before using them. I don’t follow trends lightly.

I also believe in Karma, spiritual justice or whatever you might call it. Looking back at my arguments above, I don’t think using AI will do me or you any good.

So here’s my advice instead: next time you find your (possibly already addicted) brain leading you to an AI, pause a minute, take a breath and then ask your friends or witchcraft bloggers instead. Commission an artist.

There are plenty of people out there doing art or giving out spells for free for the Gods sake. Strengthen community, strengthen your own spirit and skills.

Or use your funny billionaire funded and funding creativity extermination machine and see where it gets you - and all of us.

Your Rising is your power supply.

Your Moon is your bone structure.

Your Mercury is your native tongue.

Your Venus is your love language.

Your Mars is your weapon of choice.

Your Jupiter is your source of luck.

Your Saturn is your greatest lesson.

Your Uranus is your life purpose.

Your Neptune is your box of miracles.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.

Where I'm living now and where I'm from, people planted by the signs to ensure their crops wouldn't go bad before harvesting. People used ocean water to soothe joint and muscle pains when they got old. People studied the native plants for medicine and were mindful to only take what was needed. People did little rituals and minded their grannies' words to keep their good luck. If they didn't know how to do something (or couldn't), they went to people who did.
