wes wasn’t an idiot, by logic terms at least. he’d kept both his internet & sources
open, searching for rebecca even if he’d seemingly given up hope. this was in
fact his last lead before he promise himself she did in fact have nothing to do
with him & he’d FORCE himself to move on.
having now waited about an hour he was slowly beginning to give up, he was no
professor keating & was never good at the track & find game. if anything rebecca
could have already saw him, or she was never here to begin with. until like
clockwork she stood in the same hall as he did, looking just as startled as he
currently felt.
for once his long legs were an aide as he followed her, abandoning his bike &
ignoring the pounding in his chest. yes sports were not his expertise, but riding
around for this many years gave him some sort of endurance.
❛i’m not here to hurt you ! we need to talk.❜
She dug around in her pockets, as she moved, trying to grab her room key. The movement was graceless, bags almost falling out of her arms a few times before her fingers closed around the cold, jagged metal. When Wes’ voice rang out, Rebecca hated how her legs almost stilled. Hated how much she wanted to trust him.
Instead, she allowed a laugh to bubble from between her pale lips, harsh and bitter. “If you think I’m gonna believe that, you’re out of your damn mind, Wes.” Rebecca spat. Her unsteady hands provided her ( unofficial ) ex with an opportunity to catch up. Instead of actually unlocking the door, once the key found it’s home, she turned to face him. If she could help it, she wasn’t providing him with another place to hold her hostage.
“Where are the others? Huh?” she demanded, voice shaking on the last syllable. “I know how you people operate.” Rebecca continued, leaning to the side, looking for a sign of Connor’s smug face or one of Laurel’s stupid sweaters. They’d been her friends, and now, the thought of their appearance made her stomach lurch. The fear she fet was just another twist of the knife in her back. “You’re like... fucking ducks! Where there’s one, there’s three more, hiding behind Mother Goose in the bushes. So, where are they?”
