“Some people laugh to forget, some sleep, and others remain silent. and I do all of them but I failed to forget.”

The night of 27th Ramaḍān is upon us and it is the strongest of being the night of Laylat-ul-Qadr out of the rest of the last 10 nights,

Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said (concerning Laylat-ul-Qadr):

ليلة القدر سابعة أو تاسعة و عشرين إن الملائكة تلك الليلة في الأرض أكثر من عدد الحصى.

“Laylatul-Qadr is the twenty-seventh or the twenty-ninth night. The Angels that night upon the earth are more than the number of the pebbles.”

Sh. Ibn al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said: “Amongst the odd nights, it (Laylat-ul-Qadr) is closest to the 27th night due to the Ḥadeeth of Ubayd b. Ka'ab رضي الله عنه: ‘By Allāh, I know which night it is, it is on the night Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ commanded us to perform the night prayer, it is on the twenty-seventh night’.”

Sh. Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān حفظه الله said: “Allāh has hidden this night in this month, however it is most correctly viewed that it would fall in the odd last 10 nights, on 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th. However, the more correct view according to the people of knowledge is that it will fall on the 27th night of Ramaḍān. Nevertheless, whomever stands in prayer on these nights, while believing in its virtue and seeking its reward has obtain great goodness. Indeed Allāh grants it to whomsoever he wills.”

‘Afw: Allah forgives you and erases your sin from your book as if you never did it . .

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?” He (PBUH) replied, “You should supplicate: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).”
