MOVED.

NO ONE IS IN THE MOOD FOR GUESSING GAMES THESE DAYS. they want everything to be here — now. never can they let things be the way they should. just a simple push in one direction or another. patience is a rarity and with it comes factors that sometimes people never quite grasped or even understood. maybe it was for the best. ❛   i personally believe that all it takes is a little shove to push someone over the edge.  a move here, a delayed train there, and soon.. chaos breaks out.   my methods are simple… more so for a master illusionist. ❜

She tells herself to maintain her cool even as her temper pushes back at her, wanting to lash out.  He needs her help.  Granted, he is threatening her into doing it but still, if he shoots her this guy bleeds out and then he’s got two bodies to dispose of.  She doesn’t point that out of course.  Instead she presses her mouth into a grim line and nods her head.  “Perfect, that does help.”  

She hopes the bullet is one piece.  It will make things so much easier.  She reaches for a local, knowing all she can do is numb the area before she literally digs for what has caused the damage.  She gives it a moment or two to set in and then takes a deep breath.  She gives her makeshift nurse a quick glance before she begins the process of fishing out the bullet.  Despite the numbing agent, the guy on the table begins to thrash.  “You need to keep still.  You’ll only make it worse,” she tells her patient.  She hopes that the other gets the coded message: keep him still for God’s sake.

𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃  𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐒  𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍  ,    pinning  the  other  to  the  table  as  a  mumbled  ❛    you  keep    makin’  this  harder  ,    you’re  gonna  wish  that  bullet  took  you  out ❜  he  won’t  have  any  place  in  jail  after  all  and  his    buddy  here  would  be  better  off  dead  if  he’s  the  reason  they  get  caught  .  

𝗔  𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗘  𝗔𝗧  𝗧𝗛𝗘  𝗘𝗡𝗗  𝗢𝗙  𝗛𝗘𝗥  𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗞  ,  cori  says  nothing  as  he  proceeds  to  ask  if  she  needs  some  type  of  help  .  it  could  be  expected  the  story  is  a  lie  but  every  word  of  it  is  true  ,  she  did  in  fact  steal  from  someone  considered  dangerous  and  that  someone  is  more  than  likely  still  scouring  the  streets  for  her  .  “  i  appreciate  it  ,  ”  she  says  with  a  little  more  genuineness  than  she  means  to  admit  .  “  i  just  have  to  lay  low  ,  wait  it  out  for  a  couple  of  days  .  there’s  a  motel  outside  of  town  i’m  going  to  stay  in  ,  can’t  exactly  go  home  tonight  so  uh  ––––––  that’s  my  plan  .  ”  shoulders  shrug  with  little  concern  having  gotten  out  of  tougher  situations  before  .  “  but  the  sooner  i  get  of  here  ,  the  sooner  i  can  do  that,  so  what’s  it  going  to  take  for  you  to  release  me  from  here  .  ”

                 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃    𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐃   𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇   ,   𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊   𝐊𝐄𝐏𝐓   𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓   due   to   being   forced   to   practice   good   posture   since   a   young   age   ,   you   keep   your   poker   face   while   you   face   him   .   though  ,   if   someone   were   to   look   close   enough   ,   they’d   be   able   to   see   the   corners   of   your   lips   twitching   .       ❛       —-you   think   i   ought   to   be   scared  ?   ❜  

❛      𝐎𝐇  ,  𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃         ❜      a  glimmer  of  tease  dosed  with  a  hint  of  amusement  ripples  across  trained  features  ,    he’s  taught  himself  the  ways  of  his  own  charms  ,  rifled  through  them  to  become  someone  he’s  been  using  as  a  shield  for  as  long  as  he  can  recall  .         ❛      i’m  telling  you  ,  it’s  almost  as  terrifying  as  you  before  you’ve  had  your  coffee  in  the  morning    ---  which  reminds  me  ,     ❜    a  cup  is  placed  upon  her  desk  ,  his  tongue  clicking  as  if  prideful  before  he  takes  a  sip  from  his  own  ,     ❛     always  been  a  stickler  for  the  details      ❜

“Some people just don’t want to see that the grass is greener on the other side,” Meredith retorts with a knowing grin.  “Fine, fine, far be it for me to get in the way.  You are clearly an adult and can make your own choices.”  She certainly has her own opinions on said choices but in the end, Ric does what Ric wants.  She can only hope that when he gets hurt, it is nothing more serious than that.  There are few people in Mystic Falls that she genuinely likes and spends time with — and he is one of them. 

She makes a face as he speaks of Damon.  “I swear to God he has a the subtly of a 10 piece brass band.  I don’t mind telling him for you.  I can even make it my idea if it saves you face down the road.”  She has never had a problem standing up for her patients.  They might not be in the hospital but she is still invested in Ric’s well being.

Lucky for her, he seems to be too.  Or he seems interested enough to spend a little time together.  For a moment, she eyes him, a knowing smile playing across her mouth.  “I think that’s for the best.  I would feel better keeping a close eye on you. You are smart man when you want to be, Alaric Saltzman.  I am thinking…Italian?  Or pizza?  I am not picky when it comes to carbs.”

❛       𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐈 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎  𝐁𝐄    ?      ❜ the question comes with the typical air of amusement in his tone as he settles back a breath . even that still hurts , but he’s not about to say that out loud --- the fact is ,  he’s getting too old for this , playing this game of which direction has become tiresome for the aged body of a high school history teacher . still ,  he’s stubborn and it’s likely that he’ll go down with the fight against this town and keeping it safe . someone has to , and it shouldn’t be elena , bonnie or people like meredith .

SHE CLOSED THE GAB BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM,         placing   her   hands   upon   his   cheek.   almond   colored   eyes   locked   in   his,   she   was   stubborn   yes.   ONLY BECAUSE SHE LOVED HIM,     and   she   wanted   to   help   him.     ‘’ DON’T   WORRY   about   me, elijah. ‘’ she   spoke, a   small smile   appeared upon   her face.      -                              ‘’ ican   takecare   ofmyself. ‘’

❛  I  think  it  should  be  done  stealthily.      A  QUIET  STORM  IS  OFTEN  THE  MOST  DANGEROUS.  ❜      inej  never  once  stepped  out  of  the  shadows    [  she  didn’t  like  to  be  seen  when  scheming  such  terrible,    dark  things  ].      but  this  was  her  life  now,    doing  what  she  must  to  survive.      ❛  there’s  a  way  to  send  your  message  without  the  risk  to  several  key  players  of  the  group,    brekker.      SEND  ME.  ❜

𝐇𝐄  𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒  ,  the  risk  involved  ,  the  caution  involved  in  every  move  against  them  .  there  are  two  warring  sentinels  battling  inside  his  head  ,  one  drawing  an  uncomfortable  layer  of  care  for  inej  before  him  and  the  other  that  wants  this  job  done  and  done  well  .   she’s  right   ---   but  he  can’t  simply  say  so  and  instead  allows  his  gaze  to  part  from  hers  and  back  towards  the  spot  where  the  light  meets  the  room  again  ,      ❛         then  do  it  ---  but  tell  me  you  have  a  plan  first           ❜

“  𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐁𝐄  𝐍𝐎  𝐎𝐍𝐄  𝐓𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒  𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐄  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐑𝐔𝐋𝐄𝐒  .  ”  lizzie  tosses  the  book  aside  on  the  desk  with  little  hope  (  no  pun  intended  )  of  finding  the  creature  .  so  far  no  bodies  had  turned  up  ,  at  least  none  they  knew  of  .  but  the  screams  could  be  heard  in  the  night  ,  the  students  walking  around  like  zombies  from  lack  of  sleep  .  and  if  they  think  lizzie  on  a  full  eight  hours  is  barely  tolerable  then  they  are  in  for  hell  with  the  exhaustion  currently  weighing  on  the  blonde  .  “  my  bags  have  bags  ,  ”  lizzie  whines  as  she  walks  to  the  mirror  hanging  on  the  wall  to  examine  the  reflection  .  “  what  we  need  is  a  damn  muzzle  for  this  thing  .  ”
