     ‘     I  SHOULD  HOPE  SO  .     ’          her  tone  is  laced  with  humor  as  they  walk  side  by  side  .     lead  by  only  their  feet  ,     she  wondered  just  where  they’d  end  up  if  they  were  to  continue  their  steps  without  any  contemplation  .     part  of  her  wished  they  would  find  out  ,     but  she  wouldn’t  voice  it  .     instead  ,     her  hands  would  fold  together  behind  her  back  &  she  let  out  a  content  sigh  .

   “Yeah? You weren’t so fortunate either.” Adjusting the sword on his back, he rolls his shoulders back as he walks ahead. The weight of it isn’t something he’ll ever get used to unfortunately. The rain has completely come to a stop leaving behind on its wake steam that surfaces from the cracks and openings of dry land, sucked of its life, to continue to rise as evidence that it was once raining in the first place. “I remember a certain toad hoppin’ around with a ribbon on its head… slippery little fella.” With her, his mind tends to be a few steps behind his impulse to speak to her, almost like the words cascade themselves out of him like second nature.
