"Never thought I’d fuck a married woman but you make me wanna try that too." 

He stopped. He dropped the hose and turned around, walking quickly toward him.

Gareth’s head fell back in a loud laugh. 

He wanted to hit him. He wanted to put him on the ground or under it. He wanted to bite him even, it'd be an ironic way to kill a man like Gareth, he thought. One of these days he'd be the last thing Gareth ever saw.

"You’d want me to go in there and get her out? You think she’d fight me? Not when her precious husband stands before her very eyes? She’d be easy to coax out and get right to you." Gareth grinned.

Eli smiled. Gareth had no idea who he was talking about. The kind of woman Roxy is, she'd fight tooth and nail. He maintained control even as he imagined Gareth touching her, violating her like that.

A sly smile spread across Gareth’s face as Eli shoved his hands into his pockets. A wise choice in deed. Gareth walked up to Eli until they were just a good foot apart and he ran a hand through his hair. 

He stood his ground. Gareth wouldn't do it and he knew it. There'd be no way to control him if he hurt Roxy. He'd burn the whole place down, Gareth along with it if something happened to her.

Gareth walked over to Eli and yanked the bottle of water out of the man’s hands, throwing it across the little courtyard. “I’ll back off when I want to back off, Elijah. You know the rules around here - don’t fuck this up for yourself.”

He saw red. Everything was red. How dare he mention his wife. How dare the very idea of his Roxanne pass his lips. His hands found their way to his pockets where they'd be safe, where Gareth would be safe from them.

"Oh, Eli." Gareth laughed, shrugging everything he said off. "Let’s not use such language and gestures, hm?" 

He sneered at Gareth's laughter and he hated everything about him. How he spoke down to him like he was better than he was, how his stupid face contorted when he tried to play things off. He hated how he breathed and how he lorded over everyone.

Eli sat back in the flimsy lawn chair that he sat in outside the warehouse over looking the train cars.

Even if he found Eli obnoxious, he gave him props for knowing how to get out of an uncomfortable situation. Gideon looked up. “What are you talking about? I’m not crying,” Gideon responded. He blinked slowly as he felt a small beed of a tears.

He acted as if Gideon wasn't crying at all as he watched him talk. He hated this. The whole "getting to know someone" thing wasn't his style and he'd like it much more if there was something for them to do together besides stare into the empty black abyss of the night.

She turned her face away and took a step backwards. She didn’t need promises from him, she didn’t want them for that matter. Roxy took their bag of belongings from the backseat and shaded her eyes from the evening sun that edged it way over the military facility. She squinted.
