He should have been more careful.

He honestly thought it would be fine. It was still quite early in the morning, around 10 AM to be exact. If there was another way, Riley would have gladly took the longer route if it meant bypassing the city altogether. The walk would have been a lot more peaceful for the aura user but alas, there were no smaller roads in this path. The only way to go from this route to the other was to pass through the city. A deep frown marred his features, a hand pressed against his stomach as it churned anxiously. 

Arceus. was there really no other choice?

Unlike her fellow Elites.

A parasol in hand heels clicking against the pavement, Caitlin decided to go outside and explore for once. She was trying to get over her fear of people - at least try to interact with someone without having her fellow Elites somewhere nearby. Mainly the only interaction she got was from them and whenever the occasional parties.

“You’ll always… love what you do Thorton. Even with the Factory slow, you shouldn’t let that have you think otherwise.” 

Love… What he did? He wasn’t sure that was the case– He felt like it was merely an obligation.

She could faintly laugh in her head. The Elite could pretty much see him questioning her words. He was always a brainier even when they were children.

His eyes glance to and fro for moments before speaking. No one follows– Caitlin is the only one known to the public eye. He takes in the atmosphere– the dim lighting and the soft music, yes, its quite peaceful here.

Her soft voice brought his attention away from his observations and back to her.

“So, tell me Thorton. How have you been?”

“That cafe that you were recommended sounds great. It is getting quite… cramped, if you ask me,” He says, making sure to lace his words with a passively agitated undertone.

Hearing his words the female closed her eyes as she bobbed her head agreeing with the male. “Indeed, it’s getting too cramped here. I do enjoy breathing without being suffocated.” Her lips in a smile as her words laced with annoyance. “Thank you Reuniclus.” Taking the familiar red and white Pokeball the red beam appeared as she let out a chirp and returned to her home.

Thorton couldn’t help the smile that crept slowly into his expression when his eyes met with her disinterested face. Even though they seemed to mirror each other with their dull demeanor, it was apparent to them that tension and excitement were flaring. To the passerbys that crowded Caitlin, they more than likely appeared to not be acquainted with one another. This was definitely not the case. 

Hearing his voice and the way he addressed her the psychic let a small smile tug at the corner of her lips. Excusing the male’s who turned their sour glares towards Thorton’s way the female in return curtsied to him. “Indeed it has been...” She ignored the way the female’s burned into her with their looks as she tilted her head to the side with that smile still on her lips.

Thorton, was the only one that she grew accustomed too being around. As well for him it was the same. They grew up childhood friends and were pretty much glued to each other’s sides till her departure to become an Elite. After she left, they slowly drifted apart till their communication was of a hum to her ears. Amazing how life in a way made these things happen - though never in a thousand years or less would she ever thought it would come down to their meeting once again.

Reuniclus chirped happily as she enjoyed being praised as Caitlin’s eyes lit with what was happiness for her. The green amoeba danced in place as she listened to the two talk among themselves. In a way Reuniclus knew where to find him due to the faint connection she could feel from him, but this meeting now concluded that he was from Caitlin’s childhood.

Eyes moving from her Pokemon she looked at Thorton as she nodded her head. “I do agree.” Placing a delicate hand on top of Reuniclus the blob chirped feeling her trainer’s hand. Hues lighting up to the word tea Caitlin’s attention was most at hand. He still remembered of her tea. “Tea does sound lovely.”

It let out a delighted chirp, but shortly afterward, it’s attention was captured by something else within the crowd. Whatever it was startled the lonely Pokemon enough to raise is gelatin-like arms in defense. Thorton may not be as educated on his new friend compared to many other Pokemon species, but he was certain that a change in stance meant an imminent attack, no matter what the Pokemon may be.

Reuniclus knew her trainer well enough to know she didn’t fair well in public - especially people. The only people she could remotely speak more then one word to were the other Elite Fours.

Eyeing the Casteliacone in his hand the female turned her attention back to the male. Dancing about him in a way as if analyzing the male before she beamed a happy smile his way. Her distractions were just increasing as her goal at hand was slowly loosing grip on her. Her curiosity was gaining the upper hand at this point.

Small black beads were slowly scanning over the cone and then back to the male. Yet again, curiosity was gripping at her and it was then that someone passed by that snapped her from her thoughts. Even though it wasn’t her beloved trainer it got her to go in a bit of a panic.

Arms expanding as more colorful orbs appeared to help with her expansion. Panic shown on her face as she then calmed down after her attack her arms returned to their normal size as she floated there staring at the male. She couldn’t get it off her mind that this male was so familiar.

Elsewhere, the trainer for the lost Reuniclus she was slowly making her way towards the small cafe. Eyes casting glances at people as well towards Pokemon that were out for the green amoeba she let out a quiet sigh. Still no sign of her.

It started to become a bit of a worry more then an irritation for the psychic trainer. She knew how her Pokemon could be and she lost goals very fast because she was always so curious. Her mind then started to dwell on a certain friend of hers - mainly the only one she ever had as a child.

Caitlin wondered how he was doing, what he was up to, and if he was still the usual. He probably was. The male rarely showed emotions, and once in awhile did he smile around the girl when they would have their little play dates. He was the only one she couldn’t have her powers go lose on because she was terrified on how he would react.

Brushing that aside the girl was stopped just a few stores away from her destination. “Oh, Caitlin! So rare to see you out!” Someone spoke out, turning her attention it was a fan of her’s that was always there to see when she had a battle. Eyes staring at them she blinked a few times before nodding her head slightly. “I guess if you could say that.” Her British accent lacing every word in a light airy way as people stopped to stare.
