               “That professor just can’t get my name right. It’s not                 even  all  that  HARD  to  pronounce.  I  don’t  get  it.”

                “Well, they DO say blondes have more fun ----”

               “Are you also studying magic? Let me see.”

               “Different doesn’t  always  mean bad. It                 took  me  a  while  to  learn  that ----” 

               “I’m studying magic, of course. Don’t you think I                 look   just   the   type?   And   you?” 

              “I would be Galinda Upland,  perhaps you’ve heard of my               family before?”  She was assuming,  of course,  that just               because her  family were  well liked  that they were  well               known.  The  two  traits  did  not  always  coincide.  

                         “Elphie ---?”

Hufflepuff Glinda being so angry about being sorted into Hufflepuff that she refuses to take the hat off, but instead argues with the sorting hat, insisting that she must be put into a house of ‘a higher standard’. Of course, the sorting hat refuses and McGonagall eventually removes the hat from Glinda’s head herself. It is clear why she was sorted into Hufflepuff eventually, though, as she soon proves herself to be very loyal to her friends ---- even if she acts slightly like the stereotypical Slytherin to her enemies. At the Yule Ball, where she embarrasses herself for the sake of helping a former enemy, McGonagall smiles to herself, knowing that she is right where she BELONGS.

                “Aren’t you a little young to be here alone, little one?”
