Why did Mark out of all people actually agree to go to your event? Especially after he threatened to rip your precious comic. On top of that,he even mocked you for standing your ground. Even worse, you willingly and personally handed him the flier. But whatever. Doesn't matter.
You say it doesn't matter. But in reality it wouldn't leave your mind!!!
Focusing in class became a challenge. Your heart starts racing and your palms sweat just thinking about it. What if he absolutely bullies everyone there? Causing the club to be closed down??? What if he wrecks the classroom it's going to take place in??
He wouldn't do that right? I mean hes a big asshole but he must have some amount of humanity left in him. He DID accept your invitation.
You turn to look at Mark who is currently drawing skulls or whatever it is that goes through his feeble mind on his arm. It looked like a big mess too. Different strokes of pen and marker on his arm. There were faint maker lines from his previous attempts at self-customization the day before.
Yuck that probably means he hasn't washed his hands since yesterday.
Yeah this was definitely a mistake.
The rest of the day went by slowly. Like time itself was slowly counting down. After a whole century of putting up with all these feelings of uncertainty and unease. You finally make it to the classroom where the event is to take place.
Your favorite teacher's classroom.
It's a pretty large art room. There are many art supplies carefully tucked away in boxes that are labelled. “Markers, colored pencils, paint”. It smells like crayons and paint and all sorts of different materials students had used before in the day.
As you’re setting up for the event. Your mind continues playing out all the possible situations that may play out during the event.
This event is one big advertisement for your club. So many people would come to try out your little workshop.It was essentially a “make your own character” workshop. Comic book club is still pretty new. So far youve got 4 members but youd need a minimum of 10 students to keep the club going.
You think about the people that might have a chance of joining your club.
That girl from biology, the guy that was in the cafeteria…MARK.
Your mind starts rushing back to all the worst case scenarios you came up with prior.
Maybe he’ll enter the room, grab the snacks and leave. But taking all the snacks would be so selfish. You used the club's budget on them. If only there was a way to get that moose to actually participate so he wouldn't put the budget to waste.
You look around the room to see what your brilliant brain could come up with. Toiletpaper rolls, pipe cleaners, and a shoebox.
You take the final 20 minutes to set everything up for the final preparations of the event.
Finally the bell rings and every participant lines up outside the door. You open the door with a smile gladly greeting everyone. You watch as everyone walks in and sits down. You amde a mental note beforehand of the amount of people to be there. 25.
So far theres around 23 ish people which isnt bad.
After a white everyone makes it in. There's no sign of Mark anywhere. You're relieved but for some reason, you also feel as if you have a sinking feeling inside.
Just as you walk up to the front of the room to begin the event, you could hear footsteps approaching the classroom. Thick and loud.
