He does care about the other Todorokis’ opinions though

A little rant if you will about All for One or Zen Shigaraki from My hero academia. And it's basically about how people say he was "Born pure evil," and I quite disagree with that, and I feel that Horikoshi literally placed it in our faces the entire time, but AFO/Zen is a complex-character, and some if not most people (this goes for every fandom ngl) either don't understand - or don't like complex characters (or they just don't want to at all). For starters - he's my favourite character, or one of my very personal favourites in the entire series. He's such an interesting villain, and I genuinely liked him since his appearance the Kamino Ward incident.

I'd like to say; I did join the fandom in like 2020 and left somewhere in 2021, so I didn't know of anything until like literally last year. Once I watched like every seasons and waiting for the 8th season, he wasn't what I expected. And reading the Manga - up to his backstory, even more so. "AFO was born evil" he was not.

AFO is arrogant person, he wants attention - literally since he was born, the manga stated him as an arrogant baby who wants everyone's eyes on him, but during the birth his mother died - and they just happen to be born in the gutter, where no one would find them. It continued to describe him as someone who'd find a person almost useless or worthless if they don't provide him with anything.

Its true - he's evil, I won't deny it, one of - if not the best New Gen Villain, he's narcassistic, a meglomaniac - one could say he has a god-complex, except with his freakin persona of the Demon Lord. The Demon Lord. A character from the comics he and Yoichi read as kids, if he was born pure evil he would've not been inspired by a comic character - to become evil, and he literally calls himself that name dude. And why was that? I wonder... because he wanted attention. He literally said, the hero fights the demon lord but hides his identity, while everyone knows the Demon Lord and bows down to him. Now I won't deny the fact that it's probably grown to him - to the fact that he genuinely enjoys being Evil. EDIT: Volume 40: "The negatives in life tend to stick in one's memory for so very long. This is why I thwart the future of Others. Yoichi.. I.. I want everyone's eyes on me.. forever" EDIT: Also for those that say he has no emotions, literally the next few pages over, "I let my emotions get the better of me. Thats not like me at all!" A 15 year old saw saw him better than anyone else and that fact astonishes me; "All for one I'll never forgive you. But I also don't think you're an incomprehensible monster. You're no Demon Lord. You're nothing but a lonely man" Izuku Midoriya who was able to understand the villains, like Tenko/Tomura in the end. That they were made that way but not born into it. This leads down to another points where;

He didn't grew up in a stable environment. The entire point of MHA basically - especially from the villain's pov, is that "Villains are not born. They are made" This is most definitely the case for AFO. He was born into an environment where Metahumans were discriminated and hunted down, everyone's eyes would be on him - except they wouldn't provide but try to hunt him down. He had no parental or older figure to show him from right to wrong - except for Yoichi and his comics. I feel like even until then, he was probably just some deranged kid trying to survive, people try to use the argument that he "fed himself from his mother's corpse" or twist it to "Killed his mother then ate her" first of all; she was dead. second of all; where else was he gonna food from. A interesting point I read and must incude: Is that it also amplifies or gave him the idea that - as a newborn baby he just saw people for their 'usefulness' and never really loved anyone. I feel this also correlates to the 1st point I made.

The series did state that Quirks often affect their users. And its pretty obvious for AFO, he's a megalomaniac that just takes and takes (in the novels if I remember correctly it did say he takes certain quirks and quirks that seem too complex - he wouldn't take, but anwyways-). So the fact that he was born into an era where metahumans were discriminated, and had to live in literal rags (until riches) with his ideology of wanting everyone's eyes on him - its no wonder he became so evil. I saw an interesting post about someone comparing AFO with Himiko Toga, saying that - while they are very different, they were pretty similiar in certain ways, and more then you'd think, like in their quirks, and the environments they were born in, as well as their way as seeing love.
