I haven't touched my blog theme in years

Doodling fethry and hair and how fethry and hair works in my little early 20th century au...he hates having his hair cut, it's always an all-day process, so Eider and Lulubelle don't fight him on it whenever he's out of school for long stretches. But when he goes back to school it gets cut. One of many reasons he hates school.

I need to give miss okeah over here some more drawing attention.. she has plenty of lore but not many drawings 😭 I think once i create a fullbody ref for her it’ll help that alot, cause unfortunately i dont have the ability i have with Sqeebo of just lazer printing what I wanted her to look like with my mind onto ibispaint in like 8 hours.. i have to learn how to draw muscular better. Im learning but i wanna be better!!!! I crave progress! I crave success!! Feed me!!!!

I think i have maybe 6 drawings of her up and half of them are outdated (by outdated being over a few years old and just not a good reference anymore) which is a total disservice because shes maybe my second favorite oc to write lore for atm (the first being Ty, who im planning to draw next. Except im not so much writing his lore but fully fleshing him out because he’s fun to work with)

But seriously i love andra I need to give her more art because thats pretty much the only way I end up talking about my ocs, and it also brings me joy to see my gooblings.

right now she mains tri stringer because shes tired of being on the frontlines like she was during her service, but i just feel like the tri stringer looks a little out of place with her so i wonder what a better weapon would be.. i kinda think that a splatling would fit more but the problem is that Mav is a splatling main (and sloshing machine but mainly naut and some hydra) and i dont wanna have an overlap in main weapons in 2 characters that are very closely intertwined.. like it would be different if these 2 didnt know eachother at all, but since they’re quite literally dating i dont wanna give her the same exact main as her boyfriend, cause it’d def be hydra.

Although she dosent play much turf war she does do many salmon runs (part of her job oooooo..) I made up a role for her as a job, that being a rescue worker under grizz.co, so she does get to pick her weapon because you want your first responder to have the weapon they’re best at, yknow? Her team also coming eventually maybe!!! She has 3 teammates and i have a design (at least a bust shot) for all of them in my head, kind of like cruise’s bandmates except ive actually drawn cruise’s bandmates together, and ive drawn maybe 1-2 of andras teammates..

i have so many ocs that I dont even think my Pinterest has seen some of them😭well i dont have that many actually I have a good bunch but alot of them just live in writing and not in public fully rendered art yet. Heres a list because if you read this far why not read more!!!

at first i wanted to do a kinda animation but then i was like.. well one i dont have any animation software right now and i am not buying any (i refuse to use flipaclip because i cant add audio in anymore) so i guess im kind of doing sprites? If you could call it that im gonna call it sprites anyway because when i do these i imagine game sprites

Heres just the faces since her hair obscures it.. “hair” its not technically hair but tentacles yes.. but tentacles sounds a little odd sometimes

I plan to add more later or tomorrow.. well i plan right now it may or may not happen

If you have a keen eye (at least on me) you notice.. HEY WAIT! Sqeebos hairstyle is a little different. Its more like the canon ver HUMMMN… THATS RIGHT!!! It is intentional! She is younger here:), this is before she moved it out of her face. She is more insecure here thats why haha

These are not the full drawing, i initially intended to do a fullbody and paste it into different environments and shade based off that (i was gonna do looping in the rooms) and then i realized.. 1 have nowhere to animate it (at least with sound), and 2- i do NOT know how to draw someone running!!!!! So this is gonna end up more like a sprite

I need to edit some of the proportions but uh oh well

If i have motivation ill do 2 outfit versions, one with her early outfit (before annaki yellow cuff came out, so it was annaki blue cuff or something) and her expirament fit:3 i need help on designing that outfit lolz.. i want it to be somewhere in between rivals/octo expanse uniforms (splat 1 and 2, excluding 3. Headcanon when callie was hypnotized she helped design the rival outfits for 3 because girl they are fire) but also kind of similar to side order.. but i want them to have their own vibe too. Like she was an experiment, she hadnt even been allowed to serve as a rival yet so her outfit would be probably bare bones, sterile white.. but im not too sure what else

im having a good time thinking about her lore since i let myself be a little more honest with her and just straight up say she was deeply insecure, lonely, desperate, and when given a relationship codependent. I dont want to sterilize her because im afraid people wont like her or something. Like if anything it just makes her more human and if i should have an easy time doing that with any oc it should be my basically sona😭

I mean Sqeebo literally woke up in a world that she wasnt familiar with, without memories, with a migraine by herself (save for buddy.. salmonid friend!!), in the middle of the desert- being shoved into an environment she didnt speak one of the main languages of completely by herself with nobody to lean on; no family, no friends, nobody. She tried desperately to fit in, to put on a good show or effort at school to get people to like her. Whatever role she was supposed to fill, or that she thought she was supposed to, she tried- she tried to act like she thought they wanted her to, but she only ended up looking odd around other people and becoming more isolated than she was originally. In the end she lost her dignity and she was still just as much of a shadow as she was originally, still forced to be an observer yearning desperately to be seen. This is where cruise’s rivalry with Sqeebo comes in, as her relationship to him- although negative at the time, it was something. Someone who saw her, even if he disliked her. He saw her, he cared enough to dislike her. He was the only person she had.

If you couldn’t tell, especially when they first fall in love shes extremely dependent on him because of all the things mentioned above. She feels like she has noone, nobody sees her and shes noones first choice except his. He’s the only person that loves her, that sees her, thats there. That’s comforted her, that hasn’t left her, that sees her.

finished cruise:3 ill probably do a version with his shades on like I did finite with his mask, but its late right now so maybe ill do that tomorrow

ive just given up and decided since i always draw his curly thingy to the side its just like that😭 braided straight up, and at the looser end is styled to cover one of his eyes just for a “mysterious” look. (He thinks it looks cool) (he’s not wrong)

I should do a version with his metal makeup on too oooohahahaheetee.. mm but i must figure out its look concretely sigh
