I need to read the gospels more, I realize. things come so naturally, so simply in them. Like, the thief on the cross makes a humble act of faith and is saved. the sinful woman gets spiritual restart for washing Jesus’ feet. the hemorrhaging woman is healed by a touch to Jesus’ robe. these acts of simple faith make up so much of gospel spirituality. and I panic sometimes cause I slept too late and didn’t find time for Liturgy of the Hours before work? like devotional actions can be great and lead to God, but I often suffer from thinking they constitute my closeness to God. I’m not going to be separated from God forever for falling asleep during my rosary or missing a daily mass. it’s my small acts of trust and love. the way I treat others. being conscious of God everywhere and in all. IDK if you benefit from this but I hope this helps someone
