the main complaint thrown in his direction is that his damage is poor and any other utility nonexistent, which would be a fair criticism if he was a dps or a support. but he isn't. what Verdant is instead is a low dp cost self-healing ranged attack bait who can take a one-shot if he needs to and then keep baiting attacks because death is a social construct to him. the often overlooked s1 might be a boring passive survivability skill but it does in fact make him even more passively survivable. his only task is to stay alive and he DOES that, so that your other operators won't have to. people shit on him and for what. being good at his one job

from my observation a big factor that makes abjurers so maligned as a subclass is that you Cannot play them reactively. sanctuary is a jacked as fuck buff but you need to understand the map and your abjurer's skill cycle for them to work and it's frankly just way easier to bring a "real" medic. quercus and haruka are the exceptions because they have infinite duration skills that remove the need to think about their cycles and basically turn them into medics with a different range. but it literally doesn't get more reactive than helidrop. your ops are eating shit? drop perfumer and she'll fix it. you don't need to worry about startup or skill cycles because the skill cycle is her redeployment timer. the hp loss is ostensibly a demerit but what it actually does is keep the target's hp below perfumer's own hp so they get sanctuary and let her keep healing them to keep applying the atk buff. and she has the module that gives her an extra target so she can cover multiple units with this. they can still gimp her with shit numbers of course but conceptually this is awesome

I love that himejoshi cat anyways her s1 is fun and her s2 is a pretty ok get out of jail free card like with tsukinogi. (I still think tsukinogi is still better in that niche that abjurers really excel in tho)
