here’s sone more of my Mary Kline headcanons:

she doesn’t like tight-fitting clothing (she’s very aware of the feeling of it agaisnt her), and her skin is easily irritated by some materials, so she mostly wears loose shirts, wide-legged pants, and skirts

she tries not to drink outside of special occasions and doesn’t overly like the taste of most alcohols

she’s not a super picky eater but she would happily have the same meal multiple times a week and is quite rigid with her routines (around food and also just her schedule in general)

she kissed a girl during a college party. neither of them mentioned it afterwards but Mary did kind of want it to happen again

she has a weak immune system due to the environment she grew up in so she constantly gets sick in the winter

she was offered a proper office space for her clients but she feels more comfortable doing it in her own house, since there is a small part of her that inherited her mother’s anxieties

she loves music, especially classics music. she loves the phantom of the opera. in another life she would have been a pianist

and i know this wasn’t asked for but i have some bonus “Mary working for ASYNC” headcanons for you’re getting those too:

she gets assigned as the unofficial therapist for shy of the scineitits who experience something particularly gruesome in The Complex (or for any “outside” person who stumbles upon it)

^ she was quite reluctant to do this at first, but it’s the one job she can do where she has some control - and which feels somewhat close to her old life - so she slowly warms up to the idea

she tends to eat lunch by herself, and she always has a very neatly packed, particularly-made lunch. no one dares to even try to steal any of her food or borrow anything from her

she did wander into The Complex on her own one day while in a particularly bad headspace. some of the team found her a while later sitting alone in one of the rooms and brought her back

Great, imagine them having a nightmare about it so horrible they wake up on the brink of tears next to you, shaking, eyes wide, breathing heavy, but as soon as they feel you next to them, they soothe like nothing was ever wrong.

As soon as they hear your voice, as soon as they feel your hands, as soon as they know you're there, they know they're safe.
