the green box painted with flowers, full of letters that my mother has sent me over the years. our six year old hanoverian named Paolo who enjoys being walked by the shore. the messy (and smelly) trial and error phase of developing my "fermentation seal," so i could compost food faster. my husband's drafts of a duck coop design, those big ass stacks of lumber he buys every time we're in town, and the seal i snuck beneath Paolo's wagon to lighten every load placed upon it. massaging tallow into my husband's skin because he's prone to getting chapped. the way he just sits there to watch me when we go to the lake because he can't swim. pretending to stay sleeping when i notice him praying over me at night.

more dreams are dawning on me lately and i'm SOO happy

maybe there's been a feeling that all the action & drama needs to be balanced out because these latest few lives have been very relaxed, iyashikei like... seclusion to the point where weeks can pass where i don't interact with anybody aside from family type of vibe...

this new life was inspired by several movies and manga and the vibe is difficult to get across with a simple moodboard.so i think i'll just take some excerpts from diary & memory and line em up in a vignette post

it was like this

my niece had a knack for foraging, tracking, hunting and trapping. and i would (try to) help her grasp domestic skills like weaving, cooking and assisting nursing women or those who were expecting. we were unafraid and would often trek to the nearest city without any men to escort us. it paid off because we could make some money on the side trading pelts and fats. and we were some of the few multilingual folk in our village, something we prided ourselves on.
