I'm pro-ship (but I mostly just consider myself a "normal fan" because the censorship folks have never been on the right side here) and I run a large blog that's not related to shipping in any way.
I don't ever talk about being pro-ship, but at this point, saying anything that's even vaguely anti-censorship or anti-harassment will get people to call you pro-ship in the notes anyway, so it's not like it really matters at this point.
I made a post once saying that I would be blocking people that put threats or harassment in the tags/replies/reblogs of my posts because I personally found it triggering, and a bunch of people added comments like, "I dunno, that sounds pretty pro-ship of you" "are you a pro-shipper? gross!" etc etc, and sent me asks asking if I was because "I refuse to associate with people like that đĄ"
I have never posted about shipping on my blog. It's an aesthetic blog for godssakes! But apparently saying, "Hey, suicide baiting is triggering to me, so I'm going to block you if you add it to my posts" was enough to start shit.
And...I mean, when antis get to the point where simple statements like that on blogs that have nothing to do with fandom are enough to make them assume that someone is their enemy? Maybe they should think a bit about why they're doing what they're doing, and what their side is actually fighting for.
Also I just never responded to any of the replies or messages and blocked everyone involved lol, I have better things to do.
I love that having super basic normal boundaries like "no suibaiting" or "harassment bad" is apparently enough to be targeted
antis really can't help but tell on themselves
