🇦🇷|The United Provinces of the Río de la Plata was the predecessor state to the current Argentine Republic (in my AU, she is the same person). It emerged following the May Revolution of 1810 and formally declared its independence on July 9, 1816, at the Congress of Tucumán.
🇨🇱| The "Patria Vieja" (Old Fatherland) was the first stage of Chile's independence. It lasted four years, from 1810 to 1814. It began with the First Government Junta and ended with the Disaster of Rancagua, when the Spanish regained control of the country.
They worked together on each other's independence, although Chile had more difficulties in this, in the end it did manage to become independent from the Spanish Empire and proclaim itself a republic(Argentina was very proud, but she'll never say so.)
