oh my god that "let kids learn whatever they want" style of home schooling is fucking wild, it's called "unschooling" apparently and it should be illegal. saw this article that was like "my kids are 5 grades behind in math but idc cuz they're happy and that's what unschooling is all about!!!" WHAT???
itās the dumbest thing iāve ever heard bc like great youāre raising your child so that they need to be able to do only what they want and absolutely nothing that they do not in order to be happy
like youre going to have a spoiled demon
a really stupid spoiled demonĀ
I thought Iād chime in, as someone who experienced American public school, private school, traditional homeschooling and unschooling. By far my most positive educational experiences happened when I was unschooling.Ā
Everyone seems to have a story about a dumb kid they knew who homeschooled for a few years and then returned to school behind everyone else. And absolutely, that does happen. But it would be ridiculous to argue that these kids are representative of homeschoolers as a whole. For one, the reason these kids are going back to formal schooling is likely because homeschooling wasnāt working for them, no matter who you want toĀ āblameā for that.Ā
But also, a lot of times, schooled kids just have no reason to know homeschooled kids. If you donāt go to church (or mosque or synagogue), or participate in community-based extracurriculars rather than school-based, or take classes outside of school, youāre probably just not going to run into many homeschooled or unschooled kids.Ā

This is seriously wrong. What the hell kind of child protection laws do we have. And has anyone even asked the children what they want?
Hey uh as an LGBT pro life person I really appreciate that you run this blog and you don't deserve hate for having your views. I think it's really important that u break stereotypes for both the lgbt movement and the pro life movement, and I'm really grateful to you. So thank u and don't let the haters bring you downā¤ļø
Thank you so, so much! Itās really awesome to meet other pro-life LGBT+ people. Honestly, when I made this blog (years ago), I figured itād die off quickly because Iād either be dealing with pro-life people who hate me for being LGBT, or LGBT+ people who hate me for being pro-life.
And although there are many of those, I never would have expected to find as many people who support me as I have, let alone people who are LGBT+ and pro-life themselves!Ā
So it is super awesome and youāre super awesome! Thanks again! (And donāt worry, hateful people canāt even make me blink anymore.)Ā
I have no sympathy for idiots who continue to perpetuate some bs about Americaās healthcare system being the worst in the world and single-payer being heaven.
America could stand some improvement, but Englandās medical system neglected a disabled child to the point of death on a whim, simply because they hated him for being weak.
It is the lowest a society could be, to refuse to treat a baby because heās ātoo expensiveā or thereās āno point.ā Just let him lie and rot away in a hospital bed without ANY attempt to help him when there are literally wealthy people and Presidents, for crying out loud, offering to help him and his parents begging desperately just for a second opinion and willing to pay for one. By the time they let them have a second opinion, it was too late.
I canāt imagine how furious and heartbroken his poor parents must be.

i wish i was homeschooled. i was bullied my entire life by peers in school which forced me into reclusion; i would go days without speaking to anyone. I even skipped school for 4 weeks straight. Towards the end of my senior year (literally like two months before graduation) I broke down and my parents finally took me out of the public school system and I went to a charter school in which I only had to go there for 4 hours and i only had like 10 classmates. It was great. I just wished I would've-
-been taken out before that. I have severe social anxiety and depression because of all the bullying I went through. so for me, homeschooling seems like an amazing choice
Unapologetically pro-life š¶š»
CorporationsĀ that keep the State intertwined through lobbying and creating laws and situations that benefit them- are not equal with the Free Market. Thatās corruption of capitalism.Ā
CapitalismĀ is not reliant on the State.Ā
I first heard of homeschooling in a creative writing class. I was in my twenties and struck up a friendship with the other young mother in the group. When she said she didnāt send her kid to schooā¦
of all the horrible defenses of what's happening to Charlie Gard, the most misguided is "the doctors have said he can't be helped" -- actually no, SOME doctors have said he can't be helped. Other doctors have a treatment (which is an oral medication, so it's not like it's an experimental surgery) which has been effective in the past. Docs disagree. Docs get stuff wrong, especially in the case of rare illness. There's no reason not to let him be treated except fear of disability + disabled people
EXACTLY.
Denying Charlieās parents the option to take their child to doctors who actually have a chance of saving his life AND taking him off life support without their consent is both anti-choice and pro-death.Ā
āDeath with dignityā is a lie.

Let America Be America Again
Let America be America again. Let it be the dream it used to be. Let it be the pioneer on the plain Seeking a home where he himself is free.
(America never was America to me.)
Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamedā Let it be that great strong land of love Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme That any man be crushed by one above.
(It never was America to me.)
O, let my land be a land where Liberty Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath, But opportunity is real, and life is free, Equality is in the air we breathe.
(Thereās never been equality for me, Nor freedom in this āhomeland of the free.ā)
Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark? And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?
I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart, I am the Negro bearing slaveryās scars. I am the red man driven from the land, I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seekā And finding only the same old stupid plan Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.
I am the young man, full of strength and hope, Tangled in that ancient endless chain Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land! Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need! Of work the men! Of take the pay! Of owning everything for oneās own greed!
I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil. I am the worker sold to the machine. I am the Negro, servant to you all. I am the people, humble, hungry, meanā Hungry yet today despite the dream. Beaten yet todayāO, Pioneers! I am the man who never got ahead, The poorest worker bartered through the years.
Yet Iām the one who dreamt our basic dream In the Old World while still a serf of kings, Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true, That even yet its mighty daring sings In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned Thatās made America the land it has become. O, Iām the man who sailed those early seas In search of what I meant to be my homeā For Iām the one who left dark Irelandās shore, And Polandās plain, and Englandās grassy lea, And torn from Black Africaās strand I came To build a āhomeland of the free.ā
The free?
Who said the free? Ā Not me? Surely not me? Ā The millions on relief today? The millions shot down when we strike? The millions who have nothing for our pay? For all the dreams weāve dreamed And all the songs weāve sung And all the hopes weāve held And all the flags weāve hung, The millions who have nothing for our payā Except the dream thatās almost dead today.
O, let America be America againā The land that never has been yetā And yet must beāthe land where every man is free. The land thatās mineāthe poor manās, Indianās, Negroās, MEā Who made America, Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain, Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain, Must bring back our mighty dream again.
Sure, call me any ugly name you chooseā The steel of freedom does not stain. From those who live like leeches on the peopleās lives, We must take back our land again, America!
O, yes, I say it plain, America never was America to me, And yet I swear this oathā America will be!
Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death, The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies, We, the people, must redeem The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers. The mountains and the endless plainā All, all the stretch of these great green statesā And make America again!
