Just a reminder that this feathered scum was pretending to be their best friend. That before Sam stabbed him in the back, because he had lost touch with reality at all, Sam tried for weeks to talk to him politely and bring him to reason, because he was his fucking friend, and tried to save him from the disaster he would have brought to this world. But, of course, Castiel knows best. He knew perfectly well what Lucifer had done to him and threatened to throw him back into the cage anyway.

And my theory that Sam was another Alastair plaything for those two-three earth days while he was dead after he was murdered by Jake Tulley, but the angels suppressed/erased the memory is confirmed again. I doubt that Ruby and Dean told him about how they were cut to pieces by Alastair in Hell. And such hallucinations without being suppressed memories cannot be born from a blank slate. So it is safe to say that Sam killed not only his brother`s but also his own tormentor.
