I don't know her yet but the design wouldn't leave so I had to draw her at least.
A few of Nixie's looks as I've been playing
"You are always free to show me any Pokemon of yours you'd like," he said. "The fact I was able to help out a Pokemon is more than enough for me today." It was hard to tell if he was being stubborn or he truly didn't understand Nixie's need to pay him back for the help.
Nixie let out a long groan, it was definitely hard for her to tell if she was just being messed with. She began to massage her temples with her fingertips. "Please pal. I'm beggin ya, even if it's somethin real simple. Let me pay ya--" Her thoughts then shot to downing that lemonade, had she paid for that? Did she let the guy pay for his own stuff?
Taking her wallet out of her pouch, she shoved what was clearly more than what the beverages were worth into his hands. "SORRY I MADE YA BECOME A CRIMINAL! I'LL GO BACK TO THE CAFE AND BEG FORGIVENESS!"
She was only digging herself and even deeper hole. How was she gonna explain this to anyone?
This is a problem...I'm already thinking of a potential new oc.

"So what if Parfait has a little bit of a drooling problem? I do my best to clean up after him! But I still get dirty looks!"
"Guess who passed her boss in the Z-A Royale!"
"I'm afraid my backstory is entirely boring!" He laughed at that. "I perhaps had a few incidents when I was younger, but only as much as a young man studying Pokemon can get into." Oak still brought up the incident with the stampeding Taurus whenever they visited.
"I appreciate the sentiment, at least," he said in response to her offer. "Though I'd venture that I'd have more help to offer you! I may have resigned from the lab, but I still have my network of connections." A pause. "Ones that aren't exactly happy to be used for nefarious deeds."
"I can't accept more help without payin the help you gave me back first!" She dramatically stomped her foot, hands on her hips. "You gotta know how this all works, if I take more help from you, I'll be bringin shame to the Syndicate."
"Uuuuh let's see. You still study pokemon...is there one you're interested in checking out? I could catch one for ya. Oh, or I could show you Parfait! My bestest partner Scolipede! He's a special color and everything!"
That actually got a laugh out of him as he leaned down to pet Litleo, who had been pawing at him for attention since they got to the Wild Zone.
"Sycamore," he said. "My name is Augustine Sycamore."
At the suggestions, he took the Poke Ball out and returned it for now.
"I voluntarily resigned from the position and have no interest in returning, though it wouldn't take a wish to the city to make it happen." From what he'd heard, they'd probably welcome him back with open arms over the current interim director.
And then a pause.
"And just who said anyone has betrayed me? That seems a bit of a non-sequitur!"
"I've been crafting a dramatic backstory for you." Nixie crossed her arms over her chest and smirked proudly. "Boss says I have an overactive imagination and tend to get caught up in my own fantasies." From how she relayed it, it was clear she didn't take this at it's intended, admonishing tone.
"Oh, I totally forgot." She straightened her back, put her arms at her sides, and gave the man a bow. "I'm Nixie, of the Rust Syndicate. Nice to meetcha!" She raised her head back up and grinned, loosening her posture. "I'm just a grunt, so I ain't got much power, but if you ever need anythin' feel free to come to me! Even if it's somethin as simple as findin a place to stay or directions to the museum!"
It took him a moment for his brain to wrap around just what was going on.
And then, “Yes, until about four years ago, I was the director of the lab here in Lumiose! Leading research and handing out starter Pokemon to new trainers. Such a career doesn’t really have an end date. Just look at Professor Oak in Kanto! But things happen, and sometimes life moves on.”
The way he totally ignored her offer spelled it out plain enough in the moment. She could put aside repaying the debt for now and follow up once she reported back in.
"Oh, you were the previous director? That was uuuuuh....Professor...Syc...o...phant? Sycophant?" Nixie recalled her folks telling her about various important people in Lumiose, who could have known she'd end up meeting one of them.
"So what're you doing now? Just cruisin until something new comes along? Ooooh! Thinkin of hittin up the z-a royale to get your old job back?? Or revenge...on the one who betrayed you."

“I was a Pokemon researcher, in a past life,” Sycamore said. “I still am, I suppose, just not tethered to a lab.” And he had yet to decide what to do with his credentials without having the lab behind him.
As soon as they got to the Wild Zone, Sycamore glanced into it. “You are correct that these are likely a very bad idea. But experience tells me people tend to learn lessons the hard way.”
"Oooooh no wonder! That makes total sense! A pokemon researcher! But you aren't anymore?" Well she had to assume even researchers retired, or...was he fired because his criminal past was discovered?!
"Boss works real hard to keep the peace, even if some of his methods aren't the nicest. And it just got harder when they started addin these zones." Nixie gave a wave to some other people leading other Pyroars into the zones.
"You really helped me out, and boss says we gotta repay debts. So...can I help you out with anythin? Oh! How about I talk to the boss and get you a job as our resident expert? I think havin someone around who knows more about pokemon than the rest of us could really help solvin these kinds of problems!"
“Ah, I am well past the point in my life when I could scale that,” Sycamore said with a laugh. “But I do have a friend who could help.”
He reached into his pocket and produced a Poke Ball, out of which burst a Litleo. Sycamore hunched down. “Think you can go get your friend down? He’s causing quite a bit of trouble for this young lady.”
Litleo let out a cry and was off, soon returning with Pyroar.
“See? Easy.”
Nixie watched the Litleo scale the scaffolding with ease, and cheered when it returned with their fugitive.
"What a smart little fella you are! You've done your boss proud!" She knelt down to give the Litleo a hearty scratch under it's chin. She stood and began looking over the Pyroar for any injuries, her eyes flicking up to Sycamore every now and then.
"You think fast! What's someone smart like you do for a livin?" With the Pyroar cleared of any problems, Nixie fed it a handful of berries and gestured for everyone to follow along as she lead it back to their wild zone.
“Well, as you say, they are giant cats. So I would be looking up.” There was a scaffolding course nearby, and Sycamore turned, though he wasn’t expecting it to be that easy.
Lo and behold, there was a Pyroar, sitting on top of a free standing scaffold, paws tucked under itself as it watched the foot traffic. “Ah, I suppose I haven’t lost my touch, at least!”
"Lookin up, huh? I shoulda thought of--" She spotted the Pyroar in no time at all, a gurmpy frown forming on her face as she realized she was outsmarted by a giant cat.
"Lemme just text someone real quick." She took out her overly decorated Rotom phone, it seemed weighed down with all the chunky accessories. "Okay. Sent out a message to the rest to sweep the rooftops and scaffolds."
"Now, do we go up there? Or get it to come down?"
Like how quickly she drank the lemonade, Sycamore had to give her credit for how impressive that leap of logic was.
"Ah, no, nothing like that," he said with a laugh, but that was all he could say before she had grabbed him. He did manage to drop enough money on the table for their drinks before she had pulled him along. No need to have a bad reputation with one of his frequent haunts.
The streets weren't in as much disarray as the woman seemed to imply, at least. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he cleared his throat and tried to unruffle his appearance. It had been quite a while since he'd run that much.
"Well, before I can help, what methods were you using to gather these Pyroar, if I might ask?"
They came to a stop at the plaza in Jaune district, Nixie scanned the area for any sign of distress. She turned to look back at the man as he was still getting himself put together, laughing a little nervously as she realized she leapt without looking again.
"Ah, I've been lucky mostly, caught 3 of em already. They were just kinda out in the open, exploring the place, so I didn't really need to gather em." She propped her weight on one foot, hands on her hips as her eyes continued scanning while she spoke.
"The obvi answer is settin a trap with food. But unless we know where they're lurkin, we can't know where to put the trap. You got any ideas where big ol felines like that might wanna hide?"
This is Nixie's theme. It kinda fits her vibe perfectly.

The rate at which she downed that lemonade was impressive, he’d give her that. He listened with interest, almost wanting to ask who she worked for that gave her assignments like this, but he supposed it didn’t matter at the moment.
“Well, I wouldn’t call myself a civilian, exactly! Though I suppose the years have been unkind to the amount of sway I have over Lumiose’s decisions when it comes to Pokemon.” He picked his coffee back up. “Chasing after some fugitives does sound much more exciting than sitting here all day, though!”
She seemed to only be paying half attention, crunching on the ice left in the cup until he finished talking and all of the information linked together at once in her mind.
"Waaaaait were you some kinda bigshot in Lumiose? That's so totally awesome! Some kinda mob boss that controlled the city from the shadows, but ya second in command wanted the throne for themselves and cut a deal with the law. You caught onto the plot and had to act fast, leavin the city and your power behind in order to keep yer freedom and one day return to the city to take back what was yours!" Her eyes sparkled, trapped in her fantasy before the memory of her boss' forehead vein throbbing in irritation managed to snap her back to the present.
"Aaaah! I gotta find those pokemon!" She jumped up from her seat, grabbing onto the man's hand, and pulling him along. "Thank ya much for yer help! This'll go much faster with someone like you helpin me!"
He wasn't used to people just randomly sitting down with him anymore; back in the day, students of his who spotted him would, but given it had been a few years since he'd been associated with the lab, no one seemed to recognize him anymore.
So it took a moment to catch up with the stranger, after which he put down the cup of coffee in his hand.
"I'm afraid I haven't! What exactly makes them fugitives, if you wouldn't mind me asking?"
A waiter came by the two when they noticed there was a new guest, the woman immediately asked for a lemonade, and resumed trying to catch her breath.
"They escaped their wild zone, and have kinda been goin on a rampage." She took a moment to wipe some sweat from her forehead. "We managed to catch most of em, but there're about two or three left and the boss says the job ain't done will all the fugitives are back in their cages."
She snatched the glass of lemonade from the waiter before they even managed to set it down, downing the whole thing in an uninterrupted chug. Her head hung low as she sat the glass on the table.
"Shouldn't be botherin a civilian with this anyway, but I'm so damn annoyed. These wild zones ain't as safe as everyone thought and we're havin to clean up more mess than we expected."
