Marlène Charrell is actually a robot created by the evil team to bore the trainer to death with a long-ass tutorial.

Johnny Logan tries to reprogramme her, except he’s a songwriter, not a technician, and fails miserably.

Because it could be only one person defeating her.

That’s right.

After you beat him, he will show up agaisnt Robo-Charrell, because there could be only one terrible host. 

After a terrific battle between Toto and Robo-Charrell, she will finally explode after Toto says, against her terrible dystopic speech in three languages about annihilating human beings and Pokémon, the iconic and powerful word....

You thought that that fight with Toto and his OP Spinda could be the most painful fight of your Pokémon life ?

Ooh boy.

poor unfortunate and innocent soul, you haven't met Marlène Charrell.

You meet Marlène Charrell around the gym of Corinne Hermès. She will ambush you for an unskippable tutorial on how to catch Pokémon (yes, in the middle of the game) in three languages. Of course, it will be as long as possible.

And then ? Here comes another unskippable tutorial in three languages on status and defensives attacks, made by our dear Marlène Charrell too. She has in her team Forretress, Blissey, Metapod, Kakuna and Miltank. None of them has offensive attacks, and will spam you with Disable, Attract, Thunder Wave, Harden, Iron Defense, etc... so that you understand the importance of these attacks. All of that in English, French and German too obviously.

But don't worry, you can actually avoid both of these tutorials before you die of boredom.

Between routes 1980 and 1983, you can randomly find a trophy belonging to Johnny Logan. You can choose to keep it, or hand it to the nearest police station. If you hand it in, Johnny will give you the Marlène Repel, that will save you for these unskippable, awfully long tutorials.

You remember those guys in Pokémon Black ?

Well, that's pretty much the Herreys.

Except you fight the Herreys in a triple match, actually. But still pretty much the same.

The red one (Per ?) has a Darmanitan, a Magmar and a Pansear.

The light blue one (Louis ?) has a Mukdip, a Lanturn and a Pansage.

On one hand: This Pokémon totally fits this person's overall aesthetic and song! Now we just need a few more...

Jamala is that news reporter who somehow meets up with the protagonist to ask them uncomfortable questions.

She’s accompagnied by a Jellicent because...

... damn.

Toto’s team is composed of Milotic, Serperior, Skarmory, Togekiss and a Spinda.

Each Pokémon is named after random Italian sounds : Togekiss is Allora, Milotic is Bellissimo, Skarmory is Ciao, Spinda is Eh ?

The only exception is Serperior, who is called MeestaNeff (the spelling may be subject to change.

He has a joint battle with Gigliola, who has a team made up of “grown up” Pokémon of hers (since when we first met her, she has baby Pokémon).

At the start of the battle, Spinda is using Teeter Dance, confusing every Pokémon present in the battle.

The whole battle is using Italian prompts and doesn't tell you which pokémon he's sending out next and instead tells you it’ totally-not-half-assed name name instead (i.e : instead of "Toto is about to send out Spinda" it says "Toto is about to send out Eh?" but in Italian).

Here’s the place of a AU that’s growing to be rather big : the PokESCmon AU, including winners/commentators/chief executive/songwriters/hosts/so many other teams, and stuff like that.
