Scraps of ideas will be more vague ideas that might get fleshed out later if my brain refuses to drop them.

Here is a master post for type associated names. Types are listed alphabetically and I make the posts alphabetically.

Here is another big post of human character names. The names are based on pokémon. Like how we have Robin and Leo and such. It’s a biggun and still growing!

Decide how many pokemon you want your Trainer to have and then get a random number generator to pick that many from 1-22. If you don’t want to use a prompt for whatever reason, reroll!

You can self impose limits on repeats, legendaries & shiny status. For instance, when prompts use shinies as a basis you can use the pokémon the answer would be but non-shiny.

There is potential for updates so check the original for the possibility of more prompts if you want.

I know I’m verbose so hope it isn’t too bad here.

Sylveon = Transgender

Colours match the transgender flag.

Sometimes divided into transfem and transmasc using the standard and shiny colourations respectively, but a lot of the time a Sylveon symbol is inclusive to all who consider themselves trans.

Subtle Sylveon symbols often reference their bows or ribbons.

CW Transphobia = Some trans people also relate to one of the many sad Sylveon experiences, being loved until they’re open about their expression (transitioning or evolving) at which point they’re shunned.

Azurill line = transgender

Based on the fact that within certain populations, female Azurill can evolve into male Marill.

The symbols are often just Azurill and Azumarill. Marill can be used by trans communities, but it is also used by intersex communities.

Usage has different connotations than using Sylveon; where Sylveon are often reflective of a desire for acceptance, the Azurill line are used to show that one’s gender and expression of it was always going to happen regardless of others.

It has also be used by trans people who embrace their previous gender. They were A, now they are B, but that doesn’t mean they were never A and they do not want to discount how they were as A.

Amoonguss = transgender

Lesser known as this is a relatively new association and knowledge is limited to those with some knowledge of the competitive battling scene.

Used more as a symbol of allyship and solidarity with trans people, rather than being a symbol forged from kinship.

CW Transphobe mention = Became a symbol after a championship finals match where an Amoonguss was the main reason for the transphobic opponent losing, managing to put opponents to sleep and sludge bomb perfectly.

Croagunk = transmasc

A rare symbol used by transmasc folk who experienced hardships because of being trans, often using Croagunk instead of other symbols because said hardships are a key part of their identity.

The white stripes on its torso are reminiscent of makeshift binders; fighting is done to “ensure survival”; Croagunk poison specifically being used in medication for lower back pain while the poison in general can be seen as a defence.

Ditto = genderfluid, gender non-conforming & xenogenders

It makes sense the pokémon that can be anything is a symbol for so many things.

Ditto can be a symbol for genderfluid communities due to their transforming capabilities allowing them to change from one species to another with ease, correlated to genderfluid people’s changing gender identity.

GNC groups also identified with ditto due to it appearing however it wants but it being a ditto is still a core part of it’s existence.

Xenogender communities as a collective (since the specific communities within have their own symbols) also also adopted ditto because they are the only pokemon like them out of all pokémon species, hence their own egg group, and sympathise with the idea of only others like you understanding the deeper parts of you regardless of how else you present as or who you integrate yourself with.

The different communities often use ditto in different ways to differentiate what is being represented: in genderfluid contexts the ditto is between forms, showing traits of multiple species as well as the ditto itself; in GNC contexts the ditto is as another pokémon but with the ditto’s signature face; in xenogender contexts the ditto is as itself.

Ho-Oh = symbol of LGBT+ & associated pride

Said to have 7 coloured wings and have a rainbow forming behind it.

Seeing it — often used as metaphor for accepting this part of one’s identity in yourself and others — is said to bring eternal happiness.

Descriptions of it “flying continuously” can be used to reference LGBT+ always existing.

The Nidoran lines = LGBT+

Used as the pokémon in the lines are often maligned and considered misunderstood, as well as their purplish colours being a mix of masculinity and femininity.

An older symbol that isn’t used as much nowadays, at least by the youth, as the boundaries of what it includes are seen to be more restrictive than more general LGBT+ symbols like Ho-Oh.

Marill = Intersex

Used by intersex communities to symbolise intersex traits that were made known during puberty, either for the first time or moreso than as younger children and infants, due to some populations of female Azurill evolving into male Marill.

List of possible associations pokémon may have to LGBT+ within the pokémon universe. First are generic altogether pride, then gender-related ones, then orientation-related ones (romance and sexual mainly).

Annihilape = I just like some kid looking like a raggedy mess yelling “Hatred and spite fuel my might!” before they deck someone 4x their size.

Carbink = fed up because no they are not Diancie. Also since Chromastone and Diamondhead I like crystally people.

Crawdaunt = Star mask? Yes. Exosheleton? Yes. At least one claw? Yes. Extra claw arms? Hopefully.

Ditto = “thanks for saving me!!” “:)” ok seriously though would this be a shapeshifter or would they get the powers of other magical people or both or what!!

Drifblim = elongated and widened arms so they can easily carry people while flying. I had to include them somehow I love Drifblim so much

Duskull = I can reuse Ghost Trainer ideas (poké-Ghost Rider); skull face/mask, one red eye, skin or at least hair to tone it down for this is now the wispy smoke

Greavard = all the sadness of the dog who just wants friends but can’t keep them on a person who can articulate and fully understand it? Oooooo

Malamar = hypnosis and tentacle hair maybe???! Hell yeah

Salandit = I mean it has a mask built in. They’d look like a criminal too so any plot about hiding from police makes way more sense. Maybe even hiding from other heroes who also think they’re a villain because of poor timing & bad luck

Scraggy/Scrafty = b a g g y .

Sylveon = just let me use my skin ribbon idea I swear it’ll be great—

Rotti = metagross arms

Actually tried to make a blog with him but I kinda gave up and my partner for it is equally not interested now we have New Ideas.

The metal ball socket joints aren’t exposed but they are visibly under his skin.

The arms are just like a metagross’, if a bit more slender; they are not humanoid and have no disguise to make them look fleshy.

He can move them like he would with any other part of his body but it causes him great pain in his chest/sides.

Prefers to not use the arms and move them with his normal ones.

So you know how Deoxys’ arms are 2 things wrapped around in a double helix?

This one’s arms split into 2 at the elbow, with one taking thumb, middle, pinkie while the other has the index and ring.

Nym = Sylveon ribbons

Not as additional parts of the body…

Galarian Articuno has chosen a Frosmoth. Gal. Articuno witnessed it attempting to fend off a Corviknight trying to eat its young. It’s tenacity in the face of overwhelming defeat earned it the legendary’s pity.

Glastrier chose a Rhyhorn. It’s one track mind conflicted with Glastrier’s and they fought until the Rhyhorn got what it wanted, ignoring its lethal injuries. Glastrier respected the pokémon so much it imbued it with its power.

Hoopa chose a Morpeko. After watching its antics in the name of a snack, Hoopa bestowed it with its power so the Morpeko could perform more entertaining feats and hopefully score more food.

No Name, legally Terry Deerling, who ditched school (I think??) and later moved to Ferrum to be a technique specialist. People initially thought they were going to be a poison specialist, but that was just coincidence of what pokémon they got.

Euca Lipton, a fire-type enthusiast and Terry’s best friend. He settled in Orre after a couple years of travelling, becoming a bartender and moving in with his at-the-time-fiancé & professional pokemon stylist Dante and his Bergmite.

Melanie, who was seriously injured after graduating. Going by Wat (based on an old nickname) out of necessity now, Mel works at a prestigious daycare while illegally battling with their enthusiastic mons as a side hustle.

Arabella, an ex-champion, Melanie’s school-sweetheart and still long-standing crush. She actively tries to forget most of her time in school, but her Whimsicott Fuzzbul will not let her forget battling information any time soon.

Burst = fusing with a pokemon inside a Burst Heart (see below)

Burst Heart = gem containing a pokemon 

Unknown cause/creation. 

Usually octagonally faceted. Not diamond shaped, more like a cushion cut.

The pokemon inside is conscious. 

Burst Heart owners can be sent inside the Burst Heart and interact with the pokemon.

Those with stronger bonds to the contained pokémon Burst more easily, have more control, and gain more abilities of the pokémon. 

Through battles the Heart / the pokémon grow stronger and can even evolve. 

The pokemon contained is released if the Heart is broken. 

ArtiHearts = artificial Burst Hearts

Developed by manipulating pokeball tech. 

The human cannot enter to interact with the pokemon and thus is way more dangerous. 

Pretty sure they’re octahedron looking things. They look like 2 square-based pyramids joined at the bases. I think.

Burst Warrior = people who can Burst

Not everyone can do it.

Requires the Pokémon contained to want to!

Protagonist

Gets Cleffa, eventually evolves into Clefairy, evolves into Clefable near end

Revealed to Arial after saving him. Gengar at this point? Them being a vigi kinda seems like end of arc but if it’s not then Haunter.

I think designs were vague gijinka/anthro their pokémon but I like the opposite as well. Very vague though I mean it. Just close to colours and spikes or curls. Only hint is Vibes, whatever that means.

Basis of plot: Arial is eager to the point of recklessness, Phran is generally apathetic and go with the flow. Character arcs based on learning from one another
