Snipped of the very thing that kept it guarded and safe.

Plucked of every delicate petal.

Until it was merely a stem of what it once was.

How much time has gone by and I am still exactly where I started. Stuck in an endless loop of my own doing.

Will I ever be able to set myself free? Or am I destined for this cycle of repeating the same trauma again and again until I slowly lose myself?

It only leads me to heartache and pain.

Instead I'm focusing on me.

Because all I need is a bit of adventure,

Some close friends at my side,

And memories that'll last us a lifetime.

And as for love,

I'm sure it will find me someday.

It's devastating.

Like a city after a tsunami.

My life isn't gonna be a sappy romcom / that was the old me / this book is gonna be about recovery and rediscovery / like one of those self care books I never got to reading

So here's to a better version of myself / the one I've been dreaming about at night / and praying I could be
