This feeling won’t shake

I’ve been like it since ‘08

The feeling that I won’t last long

Is one that’s filled my head

Since a young age

It’s like I’m chasing mavericks

In hope that it will drown me

I’m surprised I’ve even lasted this long

I wonder

Who will be the one that finds me?

My friend and I were talking

About who would care if we died

I guess

It’s not a typical conversation

But then

I think I finally know what it feels like

To love someone

It’s not like the films

Or the songs

Or how I imagined it

But I realised it

On the train leaving

My heart hurt

Goodbyes are painful

When you love the person

Naked bodies

And naked minds

Are real beauty

The untouched roses

That have avoided

The stains of society

Are the most beautiful

Too many words

And bodies

And minds

And faces

Have been changed

Or manipulated

By this modern world

Lies are the new real

Scrape it off

Peel the skin

Unwrap that shit

Uncover the real

She had the eyes of an angel

But the heart of a devil

And she deceived me with her love

She pulled my strings and made it seem

As if I was the one

She kept her motives hidden

Under those innocent wings

But what I didn’t realise was

She was destroying me from within

By the time I noticed her hidden agenda

It was already too late

Because she kept the prize all to herself

the consequence of this trade off

is the lack of human interaction

but who cares anymore?

Does everyone just pretend to love what they do?

Because I cannot be the only one in the room

Who’s heart aches for more than this

Monotonous life

Where I stand behind a till more than

I listen to the cries

Of gulls, gliding over the glistening sea

Or the harmonious sound of

The birds in the trees

My soul desires more and

My bones want to explore

This world and all it’s secrets
