Interview with pm534 on his music, The Sway Regime, Jasmin Cortez Videos, PME in Chicago, and more.
PME330 Interviewer: Well first of all I'd like to say what a year its been in 2014, Right?
pm534: Yes, it's been a year "hahaha". It's been one wild year.
PME330: So where should I start? How about your PME division in West Palm Beach? What's in the future for them?
pm534: Well right now, Donald (XUU) is on his own thing, he really doesn't want help or want a label behind him.. and I can understand that. He still wants to be a kid and live out his teenage years, we all want to live out our teen years.
PME330: Are you saying he's not in PME anymore?
pm534: I'm not saying he is or isn't, like he want's to find himself, see what he likes and what he's into. It's not like were going through a problem and he wanted out, not a Lil Wayne and Birdman problem you know?
PME330: "Hahahaha" yeah definitely like that.
pm534: Yeah, it's all love between us, were cousins so it's not like I won't hear from him every month. We see each other and talk about his music and what he's doing over there with DeadHxmewrrk, what we're doing with PME, play video games, listen to music occasionally his music cause I'm always interested to hear what he brings to the table. He has a very open mind.
PME330: What about TokyoDubbot?
pm534: Right! He's promoting other artist and being himself, he's 15, and a freshman in High school. I don't expect him to be much involved, but I'm trying to show him his options of what he can do in life. He's young I'll give him time.
PME330: And Eric and Showtime?
pm534: Eric and Rich (Showtime) got they're thing too they are a separate group called "The Sway Regime". They make videos themselves. I think its cool. They are best friends so I think that they will work out fine.
pm534: First of all they are. Just to clear it up, and like I said before I'm letting them do their own thing, I have tons of things to work on and they want to start now, so you know I don't see why they shouldn't. They are a very talented gentlemen and I've seen their work skills and I think they have amazing potential. They shouldn't have to wait for me to give them a green light. The goal is to set a goal and achieve that goal overtime.
PME330: You said you have tons of things to work on, and we've seen videos lately on social media websites (via Tumblr, Facebook, Snapchat,Ā etc. )of basically what looks like a film with aĀ lot of Ā #JasminCortez dropping in it, whats that about?
pm534: That's something that was kind of supposed to be setup for 2016, but were still gonna let the videos drop and see how it plays out, it's a little thing that goes into a big project later.
PME330: So what's your aim this year in music?
pm534: Honestly, I'm doing a project this year.
PME330: Wow! That's all I needed to say to get it out of you?
pm534: Yeah, "haha" I'm feeling a bit generous today.
PME330: What are looking for?
pm534: Well, I've decide to switch things up and do a Mixtape.
PME330: What do you mean switch things up?
pm534: There's been some talk of me doing a project that was supposed to come in last year December, but things weren't going the way it should've and I just decided to pause that project and do a new one, but I'm actually excited for this one.
PME330: This will be your first Mixtape. Will there be any singles before the drop?
pm534: Most definitely! I don't expect to get hits since no one has heard me rap since PME, but I do want people to hear this tape and realize that it's about home and love, and how you grew up. It's not about money, Getting weed, having a lot, it's like a homecoming mixtape.
PME330: Homecoming? Like your home?
pm534: Exactly! Home, where I was born and raised, Chicago, IL.
PME330: We see on all of your websites a neighborhood, Irving Park. Is that where your from?
pm534: Yeah, Pretty much! I mean I moved around a lot but always went to the same school. And almost every time I stayed in the Irving Park area. So that's what most of the mixtape is about, being in the Irving Park neighborhood, growing up, going from child to teen there. My home.
PME330: You must miss it a lot huh?
pm534: Oh hell yeah! People I know here in Miami hate me. "haha" One day I was with CleoBanks and I was talking about the food and culture, and she told me out loud "Well why don't you take yo ass back to Chicago then!" "haha" I swear we both started busting up laughing when everyone turn over to look at her.
PME330: Speaking of Chicago, You signed a new artist, Danny Martinez. How is that going?
pm534: I'm giving him time to thing about it. He's a little scared cause in high school too and he doesn't know if he would be able to go through with it, but I told him to give it a chance, because he's amazing he tells stories in his raps like he never has before. He's been a great best friend to work with and even if he doesn't go through with it I'm still bringing him along for the ride.
PME330: Wow that's friendship.
PME330: Well the question that I have is that it seems is if you wereĀ going to return to Chicago, Is that true.
pm534: I have no idea. I'm just waiting for that day.
PME330: So what about PME here?
pm534: Operation will be the same, it will still run smoothly, I've already talked to them about the "if this might happen" problem. They can take care of things here. But if I were to go back PME will just get bigger. I really wanna recruit some more talent from Chicago.
PME330: One more thing, Jiffy242 Fatboi and Kidd MJ? What's there status?
pm534: Man, It's really stressful, MJ (Kidd MJ) and Jiff are freshman's in college now, It's hard having them in PME when they are miles away from home and you tell them about a new project and thinking bout how to get them on it, I paid for everyones hoodies, and I don't know where to send these. And I'm scared it will be the same for Fatboi too, because he's about to graduate. It's not like we are loosing them, they will always be our family, it's just a matter of working hard to put us together.
pm534's Mixtape has yet to release yet, but we are looking forward to his freshman debut.
