I would say that Disney could completely elevate the game with an escape room or even just add in more of their interactive scavenger hunts to their hotels or Downtown Disney to replace the crappy replacement of DisneyQuest (rip) that only lasted a few years. The Midship Detective Agency they have on some of the cruise ships are an absolute delight and they even had a muppet themed one with a designed door! (It’s usually Mickey, Donald and Goofy)

That would be good! The more I think about it the weirder it is that Disney didn't do an escape room. Instead for a while they had that VOID VR thing? Maybe some out of touch exec thinks those are somehow the same thing.

I'm sure these were cool to kids at the time, but to me it seems a little silly to recreate the ride experiences when presumably you could ride the rides during your trip. I like the concept for the Ride the Comix and Mighty Ducks Pinball slam though!

Pages 6 and 7:

The Inagineer stuff is soooo cool I would have loved that! And carnival games with prizes seems so generic theme park that Disney tries to distance themselves from usually but i bet those prizes were COOL.

FoodQuest is certainly A Concept... lol. Interesting that there are height requirements! They really must have been really moving attractions rather than just buttons to press. Also I never knew there was a DisneyQuest in Chicago... but it seems it was very short lived, only operable from June 1999 to September 2001; this pamphlet must have been distributed around that time!

Yes the attractions had height requirements because at least some of them were moving simulators, like mini Star Tours, with Cyberspace Mountain being the most intense of them.

I don't remember exact details but I DO remember thinking Food Quest was one of the worst theme park meals I'd had as a kid

Looking at this, is makes me wonder (not for the first time) why Disney hasn't gotten in on the escape room game. They have so many hotels, and so many cruise ships, and so many shopping centers between theme parks. Apparently setting up escape rooms isn't that hard to do, since I've been to several from lots of different companies, and one was even several rooms of attic space and a rooftop area that was set up so that people with claustrophobia could still participate without their phobia being triggered!

And Disney could tap into their love of IP and do ones themed to their movies and properties! Are you telling me that no one would be interested in escaping an Empire jail cell, or the Haunted Mansion, or the trap that Andy/Bonnie set up in their room for the toys to escape, or escape the Matterhorn before the yeti shows up?

Each one would only take an hour of guests' time, pre-scheduled, and it could be something else for people to do while in their hotel when they needed a break from the parks, or get people into Downtown Disney for a little bit!

Come on, Disney, get with the program!

Hands down the funniest part of Tokyo Disneyland is that it has a Disneyland Railroad that doesn't actually transport you anywhere else in the park. It has the dioramas and views of the park and everything but it starts and ends at the same place. And it doesn't even need to bring you somewhere else, because it's a train, and that's all the Japanese need. They just need the experience of Being In A Train and they are so so so happy to have that.

The have a statue of Big Al outside Grizzly River Run now?!

I used to fervently hope that they'd carve out a space under the mountain or built a theater somewhere in Grizzly Peak and move Country Bear Jamboree there, after Winnie the Pooh ousted it.

(Now, I wouldn't want it, because we all know they'd just install Florida's.)

Apparently this statue above Ariel's Undersea Adventure is the same one that used to be in the lagoon at Magic Kingdom

I don't know if that was a slip of words, but it was actually where Pixie Hollow is now at Disneyland, in a place called Triton Gardens. That used to be Ariel's dedicated meet and greet spot. There was a shell chair inlayed into the rock that rotated around so she could sit and be turned on- and off-stage (she was meet and greeting as a mermaid).
