Rich people are insane actually

They have NINE bathrooms in this house

Two of them are IN THE MASTER BEDROOM. Two completely separate bathrooms each with their own sink, toilet, shower, and closet. FOR THE SAME BEDROOM!!!

They have a live-in maid who came to make my bed. Not just "make it neat" but "refit all the sheets and blankets, put back all the decorative pillows I didn't sleep with and the duvet cover back on top even though I will have to take off said pillows and duvet cover when I GO BACK TO SLEEP TONIGHT"

This morning I had breakfast in a custom made chair that cost more than my RENT. THE ENTIRE SET IS 1/3 OF MY ANNUAL SALARY. FOR SEVEN CHAIRS

They have their own pool and tennis court. They don't even play tennis!!!!!

I'm not allowed to sit in the chair in the bedroom because it has a white cushion on top, and we can't get the cushion dirty

"yeah we have to be really careful with our money now since [breadwinner] sold the company and retired, we're only living off the residuals from our investments" DO YOU EVEN HEAR YOURSELF????

Their kid is graduating college soon and moving to [city] and they're gonna BUY THE KID A WATERFRONT. APARTMENT.

They bought this house for 3 million whole ass American dollars, and they still own the previous house. They're not using it, they just didn't bother to sell it.

They have a gate at the front of the property and you have to buzz the intercom to enter

They sent a private car to pick us up from the airport

The living room has two TV's in it, each with their own couch set. There's another living room with a couch and tv. This BEDROOM has its own couch. WHO NEEDS A COUCH IN A BEDROOM??

The kid's room has a fucking marble tiled bathroom. I'm sure the master bath(S!!!!!) do as well but I haven't actually seen it yet

That custom dining room set cost more than the amount of money I have in my bank account

It's just. Gd. I make decent money for where I live, I found an apartment that's 1/3 my monthly income like you're supposed to, I'm conscious with my money and am not a big spender, I don't have student debt, my parents helped pay for when I moved out and gave me furniture so I didn't have to buy any. I am solidly middle class. But I'll probably never be able to buy a home as long as I live alone, and I will never have the life these people have. Ever. It's completely and utterly unattainable and I just have to live with the fact that these people can spend more in a week than I make in a year.

And it PISSES ME OFF!!!!!

I better be in their will when they die. If I'm not, I'm committing to a life of crime and becoming a master forger.

I think sometimes it's really hard to understand how big the gap is between a rich person's quality of life and a lower or middle class person's. Generally speaking, people tend to congregate with others in/close to their economic class, so we don't usually see on the regular how ~the other half~ lives. Billionaires are rich but we don't actually interact with them or their 15 yachts. They exist as this nebulous idea of richness. But now I'm here for the weekend in this rich ass house with these rich ass people who aren't even billionaires and my GD the difference between our lives. It is taking everything in my power not to scream aloud how unfair it is.

They have money and money and money for as long as I've been alive, but when my mom lost her job in the recession and had to struggle through shitty jobs she hated for 10 years and ended up having to sell our childhood home because the bank foreclosed on it, they didn't even HELP. FORTY YEARS of best friendship and nothing except paying for my mom to visit them once a year. It's incomprehensible.
