Zoey in Mira's sweater 💕
Inspired by girl could make a mannequin hungry by @dreamhardflyfree
what if the mira sweater zoey borrowed after they spent their first night together was a camping sweater, what then....................... <- plot relevant
About the trapped (?) Rumi au, how does the public react to her coming back? How does Bobby? If everyone knows she was presumed dead after (allegedly) being kidnapped, her reappearance is bound to cause some media attention (especially from their fans)
As always, I'm in love and incredibly intrigued with your ideas
The public is overjoyed. The official explanation that’s given is Rumi did indeed get kidnapped (hence the weird new “tattoos” and also the inexplicable way she stays next to Mira and Zoey at all times) and that she managed to escape a few weeks ago and made her way back to Korea.
Admittedly, Bobby had said that they aren’t sure if she’s alive during an interview after the first year, so her reemergence makes Huntrix skyrocket in popularity as the supposedly dead leader remerges with a hot new look.
(Also, side thing that I thought of just now; by being pulled out of the Golden Honmoon her eyes changed too. When she gets emotional they start glowing gold like the Honmoon with lines running down her face. Just some fun flavor :D)
Oh also, when Bobby sees her after coming out of the Honmoon and coming back he spends exactly 2.5 seconds processing the new look before tackle hugging her with a signature bear hug. It’s very emotional, and he is immensely glad she’s ok.
Thank you! It’s honestly always so fun when I get to share the weird little things that pop into my head
I don’t have the emotional bandwidth to read the rest of the eternity-rumi-trapped-honmoon post rn but the fact that you just hear music from nowhere sometimes makes a LOT of sense (in a good way trust trust)
Yknow what that’s fair (it’s a minimal angst one if you ever get that bandwidth back!) but also wdym it makes a lot of sense 😭

Ok. So a small fun tidbit about me, I can hear music playing faintly sometimes, even if there’s no obvious source. I can usually hear it pretty clearly, but it’s only a small part of it. Why am I telling you this?
Because Eternity keeps playing and now I can’t stop the idea of a Rumi stuck somehow, trapped inside the Honmoon after sealing it (not under it in the demon realm or above it, but in an in between space she can’t leave immediately.) with the golden Honmoonz
And I’m just picturing Rumi spending two full years inside it, watching as Mira and Zoey spend a month searching for her until Celine comes clean and explains things to them, and they spend the next six-eight months mourning Rumi and assuming she died. They do try and find a way to get under the golden Honmoon to the demon realm where she could be, but they simply lack the means.
The Honmoon cannot hurt itself, after all.
A combination of Bobby (who thinks Rumi was kidnapped and killed, likely by some kind of crazy fan) and Celine (who knows Rumi would hate her if she let her girls wallow like this) convince them to start moving forwards. They don’t release anything during Rumi’s two years stuck inside the Honmoon, instead opting to retire and become instructors/music creators for newer artists.
They actually become fairly successful and Rumi, despite her despair at only being allowed to watch as her eternal reward for all she’s done, is happy for them.
That happiness turns bittersweet when she discovers they’ve been dating for a year, since before the sealing of the Honmoon. She can’t blame them for it, she always put that space between them, but it still hurts.
Not because they’re together.
Because she isn’t there with them.
It hurts worse when they lament about how they’d wanted her to join them.
The second year passes quickly and incredibly slowly. She watches as Mira and Zoey’s careers plateau on purpose, so they can have maximum freedom while still getting decent money. (Their richer then rich, they do it for kicks mostly.) she sees as Celine slowly spirals further and further, sobbing at Miyeongs, and now her, graves and apologizing.
Rumi can’t take it. She can’t take the quiet sadness slowly pushing itself into Mira and Zoey. She won’t let the guilt keep gnawing at Celine like this. They need to know she’s ok. So, she starts experimenting. Testing the limits of this new Honmoon.
She finds that while it can’t be broken, it can be… stretched. Pushing against it with all her might lets her affect the physical world to a degree, but not much more. She also finds that it’s slightly easier for her to manipulate around Celine, and even easier around Mira and Zoey.
She forms a theory, one that she gets to test weeks later when the three of them are in a meeting room to discuss an upcoming group. Rumi can manipulate the Honmoon even easier, enough so to grab something. Or, someone.
To say Mira is shocked would be an understatement. The pink haired woman shrieked when the Honmoon suddenly wrapped around her arm, and then clung to her in the shape of a hand.
A hand attached to a pale arm, with patterns. Mira’s eyes dart down to the face pushing against the Honmoon, dreading what kind of demon she would see that could somehow push the supposedly immutable barrier to this degree.
When she sees the patterned face of one of the women she loves, Mira is shocked, then disbelieving, then she’s moving.
She goes to grab at Rumi, but she simply shakes her head, a sad smile on her face. She didn’t do this so they could pull her out, she knows that wouldn’t work. (She’s almost certain. About 90%, give or take.) She did this so they’d know she’s ok. That she’s happy, even, getting to watch them.
As she fades back into the Honmoon, a sudden hand grasps her arm. Rumi is somehow shocked to see Zoey grasping at her, holding on tightly. Rumi goes to twist free, confused, but a second hand grabs onto her hand through the Honmoon.
Mira has both hands on hers, holding tightly to it and she’s pleading, begging Rumi to fight, to stay with them. She’s pulling, as is Zoey, but they aren’t able to get her very far.
Celine is there moments later, grasping at Rumi’s shoulder, and lifting. The Golden Honmoon is bending, twisting, maneuvering to try and keep Rumi beneath it.
Rumi hesitantly begins to push.
The impenetrable barrier bends, strains, and buckles under the four hunters efforts. With an oddly satisfying pop Rumi is torn from the Honmoon and into Mira, Zoey’s, and Celine’s arms. Rumi is too stunned to act for a moment, but the tears don’t wait for her to process her sudden freedom.
She starts crying trars of joy, laughing and grabbing all three women.
She is home.

Summary:
Rumi knew she’d been standing on the sidewalk staring at the doorway long enough for it to be creepy, but she couldn’t help it.
It wasn’t that the doorway in question was itself daunting or anything; it was just a typical glass door, for a business that sat tucked away on a side street on the outskirts of Seoul. It was even sitting on the sunny side of the street as the day gently rolled over from morning to noontime, making the small chalkboard ‘welcome’ sign hanging inside it gleam all the brighter.
No, the part that was giving Rumi pause was what laid beyond the door. And the potential it had to change…everything.
Was she ready? Really ready?
…No.
Not really.
But she was also sick and tired of not being ready, so whatever she was now would just have to do.
***
Rumi walks into a tattoo parlor in Seoul wanting to cover up the scars she gave to herself and reclaim a bit of her life.
She winds up getting a lot more than she bargained for when she meets the two attractive women who run the place and decided they want a piece of her life as well.
I love polytrix, I do. But sometimes I just want something in the vein of missed opportunity or something like that.
Something like Rumi who chose to wait for her patterns to be gone with the golden Honmoon and thinking that they were all on the same page. And when that didn't happen, finding out that Zoey and Mira chose each other in the distance that she created herself. Rather than getting lost in that heartbreak, Rumi chooses to let go and move one to find her own happiness where she is chosen back. Celine had chosen the Honmoon over her, Jinu had chosen to sacrifice himself, and Bobby would choose them as a whole (if that makes sense). And she does. She finds happiness with someone who doesn't make her feel like she's been left behind.
Zoey and Mira realize too late that they were missing their third. That they'd fumbled in catching Rumi. And now they have to choose to let ger go.
I dunno, I see a lot of fics where Rumi finds out about Zoey and Mira and sort of stays in that heartbreak and things happen and they find their way back to each other and I'm like "what if she didn't?"
Story’s like that always make me feel a little queasy tbh 😅 I enjoy them maybe once a month? The angst of that though kinda kills me, which I know is ironic considering the kinda stuff I usually write.
That said, I do think something like that would be fun, since they’d end up realizing it was too late and settling for simply being best friends with her. I can’t imagine Rumi would ever find someone else romantically (very well she might just decide to settle after retiring as a fixture of the community, helping raise Zomira’s kids.)
But like you said, she could find someone who doesn’t leave her alone, or make her feel like she wasn’t worth choosing. (For added angst, it could very well be another polycule. That would be extra crunchy.)
So, let’s say Rumi, about a decade after everything that happened, about five years after Huntrix retired officially, and a year after the next generation debuted, finally officially retired. She fills her time by carefully taking care of admin stuff for the new group, but learned over the last couple of years how to take it easy. (Well, workaholic Rumi easy.)
Mira and Zoey stay in contact for a while, but life catches up to all of them. Rumi gets busy with the community of Jeju, where she’s moved too. Mira and Zoey get busy with family, their two daughters growing up ridiculously fast over in Korea, probably a mid-sized town.
About five more years would pass, and Rumi would meet them. Two women, whose personality’s once reminded her of her two teammates who she had fallen in love with years ago, and slowly let that love fade in recent years. Now, those two women are their own persons in her mind, and when they both ask her to join their relationship, she said yes.
They were happy.
Mira and Zoey knew something was missing. They’d felt the edges of that hole dull over the years, but it never quite filled. They adore their kids, and love each other, but their life always felt… lacking.
They realized why about a year later, and made the move to Jeju shortly thereafter. Their kids are roughly 12-13 by then, old enough to be excited and young enough to not understand they wouldn’t be seeing their friends for a long time, if ever.
They ended up meeting up with Rumi on accident shortly after arrival. They had planned to reach out, but happenstance (and maybe some interference from the Honmoon) led to them seeing each other randomly in a market.
Mira and Zoey had their kids with them, and Rumi had her partners. (They were dating at that point, but unbeknownst to Rumi they were planning on proposing to her very soon, as they were already married.) The two couples caught up for a few minutes, but one of Zomira’s kids got upset and they had to leave.
The next few weeks Zoey and Mira spend getting to know the new Rumi. A Rumi who’s openly affectionate, speaks clearly about how they’re feeling, and is so freaking touchy. She’s constantly reaching for her partner’s, hugging them, hanging off of them.
It makes Mira and Zoey jealous, and they know it’s unfair, but the hole is still there. It’s closed somewhat, since they’re a part of Rumi’s life now, but present nonetheless. They’d talked a little about what they’d do if Rumi broke up with her partners, (and felt guilty about doing so,) but it just… didn’t happen.
Rumi was happy. They’d proposed to her a few weeks ago, and they were gonna get married next month. Celine and Bobby would be there, as would Mira, Zoey, and their kids. (They’d started referring to Rumi as their Imo, something that was adorable and broke Mira and Zoey’s hearts a little.)
For one drunken night while their kids were over at Rumi’s, Mira and Zoey talked about just making a move on Rumi. About confessing to her how they’re really feeling for her, about telling her they’re in love with her. Thankfully, they still had enough soberness to know that wouldn’t be fair, not to themselves and most definitely not to Rumi.
They’d had their chance, years ago. A drunken one night stand with Rumi, the day they’d retired. She had tried the next morning to talk to them about it, but then Bobby had come running into the apartment with Celine to celebrate a much more quiet way.
They never did get around to talking about it. And over the years it seems Rumi had forgotten about it.
But they remembered.
And oh, how it burned.
The wedding day arrived. Their girls were the flower girls, and Derpy was the ring bearer along with Sussy. Mira and Zoey were her bridesmaids, and Celine gave her away. They got to see Rumi in the beautiful gown, her patterns faintly glowing.
The ceremony was beautiful, Bobby officiated it. The after party was a gentle blur, wonderful in the ways only people in love could make it.
Mira and Zoey were hurt, but they were also glad. Rumi had found people who she could love, and who would love her.
The years kept going after that, their lives settling into a comfortable blur. The hole in their lives shrunk, until it was nearly unnoticeable. Some days, it would hurt seeing how Rumi kept those soft glances for her partners, a look they used to see directed at them.
But they grew into each other’s lives, not crossing the line to romance or anything more. They became close, certainly, neighbors who their kids could swap houses days or weeks at a time and be welcomed.
They had missed their chance to have Rumi fill that hole.
Yet, she still helped keep them from falling into it, every day she simply was there.
If you asked Rumi, she’d say her life is perfect. She has her wives, who she loves and adores with her whole heart and who return that and more. She has the littles, the girls she treats and thinks of as her own daughters.
And she has her best friends, the two people who she could say knew her just as well, if not a little better, than her wives.
—
Sometimes, letting go is what you need to be happy. Because letting go lets you grow, and change, and be something more.
And if that means you lose something, a part that you thought immovable?
Then you shouldn’t try to fill that hole, that gap, that missing piece right away. It’ll always be there, maybe painful some days, maybe peaceful on others.
But you shouldn’t let that missing piece be all you are.
You shouldn’t feel guilty for letting go. Be happy for the good, learn from the bad, and let yourself grow.
Like I said, a story where your too late makes my stomach hurt. This one has been no exception, if I’m honest.
But I think it’s a good kind of hurt this time.
Thanks for the ask, anon, and have a good day, yall!
Was listening to Naya Rivera's version of "If I Die Young" and thought of Rumi doing a cover of that. And angsty polytrix happens like they find her under the tree or them finding out about her visit to Celine
Oooh ok I listened to it a min ago very good song for angsty stuff. Would absolutely fit for something like the under the tree (which, for those unaware is actually a spinoff of a different fic by the same guy)
I think it’d fit pretty well for the Deadsolo!Rumi au, the spinoff for the Solo!Rumi au where one of the hunters (ie; Mira, Zoey, or Celine) kills Rumi. Rumi ends up reviving in the demon realm since her “human” half died to protect her, and her demonic half influenced her so she was stuck in the demon realm for a bit before escaping.
I think she’d probably make it as a personal venting kind of thing, or maybe just to get out some of the emotions she’s feeling about everything.
All that said, it being a small animatic with a song or maybe an edit would be pretty heartbreaking, it fits Rumi so well in almost every au (even the pizza girl one)

I can’t add pictures on anon but I want you to know that when I checked on your blog to see if you’d posted any new horrifying little tidbits abt Polytrix , immediatly a add came up that started with “Depression is an Evolutionary Parasite” and right underneath it was you going “ok, consider; [insert terrible horrible angst]”
Ok that is hilarious and also made me realize that I’ve been starting almost every post for the last few days with “ok” and I don’t know how to feel about that
Superhero Mira, pressured on all sides to start killing villains by her peers (most of whom do so) her parents (legacy hero’s) her brother (who is a jerk) and the media.
Civilian (no powers) Zoey is the only one who tells her not to kill the villains, instead arresting them and putting them through the courts via gadgets she makes/info about their powers.
Rumi who’s a “Supervillain” (who targets corrupt hero’s and takes away their powers) runs into a burning building and saves Zoey. (Zoey was caught in the crossfire between Mira and Rumi.)
Zoey is obviously working with one of the hero’s, so Rumi takes as much of her gear as she can along with Zoey to get info. (She intimidates but won’t hurt her.)
Mira assumes she kidnapped Zoey and is planning on torturing her. She ends up finding them a week later where Rumi is literally on her knees begging Zoey to leave her secret lair, no, stop, why are you taking apart my sunlamp, WHERE DID YOU GET URANIUM?? Stuff like that.
So Mira ends up just casually walking up behind Rumi and hugging her (her flame powers would let her burn Rumi to a cinder, and Rumi’s teleport wouldn’t work while someone’s holding her). She asks Zoey if she’s ok, and Zoey starts rambling about how nice Rumi is and how she refused to torture Zoey “even though she wanted info about *insert transparently corrupt hero’s name here* which I do have.”
For Mira it clicks really fast that Rumi isn’t targeting hero’s as a whole, specifically corrupt ones after she sees the meticulous notes Rumi has. (She let go of Rumi and started rifling through them despite her protests.)
(“Did you color code your notes about hero’s costumes?”
Rumi, who is blushing and stuttering and trying to grab the papers Mira is holding out of her reach and flustered in a way Mira’s never seen:)
Basically, the two of them adopt Rumi into their little group of “no-kill hero’s-villains-civilians”.
I dunno, I just think it’d be really funny cus before this all happened Rumi was known to be terrifying for the way she’d cripple or strip hero’s of their powers, with the exception of Mira or hero’s she knows are actually good people.
I can confirm a series is in the works for this weird ass au
Maybe the real Escape Plan is the (girl)friends we made along the way?
Mira finds herself thrown into an empty cell with two beautiful strangers. Will they be able to escape before starving to death, or worse? Mira isn't so sure, considering she has no idea what the escape plan even is.
Yall ever think about how some fans of Huntrix who became stalkers slowly started losing it?
Now, I’m not just talking about the normal “stalked becomes so obsessed they wanna kill their obsession to become one in death” thing or anything.
No, I mean they start going crazy because no one believes half the stuff they see. Zoey leaps from the top of Huntrix tower to the street below uninjured? The video one of them took from inside the tower is called AI.
Mira is somehow lifting the entire fridge? A photo from a building near Huntrix is too blurry to tell. Rumi riding a tiger? Ok, she’s their rich, if that’s was say to far fetched.
Eventually they get a candid of the girls with weapons, but everyone’s online bullying this stalker basically calling him an idiot and a liar.

Celine shortly after the idol awards, riddled with guilt after the whole “Why couldn’t you love me?!” trauma event with Rumi, finds a toddler.
This toddler has patterns, like Rumi, but she’s bleeding, like Rumi. Celine quickly figures out that hey, this kid is a half demon too. After patching her up and getting her parents (parent, as she’s corrected. Her Eomma was “taken by the bad people”) number, she tried to call it.
After three calls with no answers she used a contact she has in the police to check the home address.
It’s empty, but looks like there was a struggle of some kind. Celine puts two and two together; during the lack of a Honmoon, demons must’ve targeted this poor child’s family.
She thanks the cop and hangs up before he can ask what this is about. She decides the best way to make it up to Rumi and actually be able to look at her would be via exposure therapy.
This is definitely a healthy coping mechanism and definitely not a bad idea at all. Of course, Rumi would find out when she, Mira, and Zoey go to visit.
Her reaction is basically “CELINE DID YOU KIDNAP THIS CHILD???”
Anyways Huntrix becomes her big sister figures while Rumi tries to figure out how she feels about Celine raising this child not to be ashamed of their patterns and not making her hide them.
