And the solemn aspect of Julien is probably the reason my muse seems to be more comfortable around Canon!Julien instead of AU!Julien/Juliette. (Is that bad? I hope it’s not bad. Please don’t hurt me, for I am as frightening as a butterfly trapped on a marshmallow.)

[Well, that's more or less the Sparknotes version, I suppose. A lot more goes on, particularly in the backstories. Both Julien and AU!Julien/Juliette have the same personality -- in the AU, though, there's more opportunity for happiness and thus (s)he seems to smile and laugh a lot more. (I don't think it's bad? She'd get more or less the same reactions from AU!Julien/Juliette after all, so either or.)]
