as per my last post, i took home 3 honey gourami last weekend! the heater in my quarantine setup didn't work though so I just put em in the main 20 gallon.
unfortunately of the three I brought home, one became (what I assumed was) very shy despite not being picked on by the other honeys, and remained at the bottom of the tank until today, when I realized he couldn't swim upright/kept rolling over as he moved and I was told to bring him back by my LFS, who offered a replacement. Given their entire stock of honey gourami are supposedly male, and after a bit more reading, I decided to just keep two for now and keep a close eye as they mature (do not want to deal with unreasonable aggression).
I'm a bit devastated I had to bring back the one fish who was distinct enough for me to name (good luck out there Freckle!) but idk. I guess these things happen and I'm not sure that there was anything that could've been done, just that I don't think I'm equipped to nurse the little fella back to health.
all that to say, photos of the other goobers soon 🐠🍯
