Shrimp escapade 🦐
Today’s fish thing are these cherry shrimp figurines!
dinner date: our friend's discarded exoskeleton
Got a "Shrimps is Bugs" from @theshitpostcalligrapher for my birthday.
It now exists above my shrimp tank, which is undergoing an algal bloom after a some unexpected tank fluctuations, so have a year old photo instead

Tank update: it's been almost exactly a month since I filled this tank and turned the filter on and I'm really pleased with how it's coming along. Some of my favorite shrimp (and Steve) came out for glamour shots :)
Some of my root plants are NOT STAYING IN THE SUBSTRATE. WHERE THE FOOD IS. So I might put them in pots if I can find anything small enough.
Steve Rogers the Honey Gourami is being a good pest control fish, the hydra have been eliminated and I saw him horfing down a mosquito larva earlier. He is a bit stupid in that he won't eat food unless it's in the middle of the water column and he is OBSESSED with Selene any time she comes into the bathroom to watch me mess with the tanks. Selene is completely oblivious to his existence.
I think I have to disassemble and re-start my quarantine tank before I can get any more fish, but I'm definitely going with a school of the tiny tetras (ember, emerald dwarfs, hummingbird, you get the idea) and maybe some pygmy corydoras because honestly I have almost no algae or mulm and the shrimp are right on top of that.
Tiny baby taken by the current.. Pray for him...
