Kitty was attacked by a man named Winston Mosley as she walked home from work during the first hours of March 13th, 1964. After being stabbed multiple times, she was able to break away from her assailant and flee to the apartment complex where she lived. Although she made it inside, many of the doors were locked and Kitty was unable to reach safety. She was lying in a hallway, desperately clinging to life, when Mosley caught up to her.
