Weāre excited to announce that Player Appreciation Week is returning for 2026! This yearās theme is āOnline Friendshipsā in honor of Playerās mostly remote/virtual relationships in the show, and it will run from March 23rd to March 29th.

If you canāt post your work on the associated day, you are welcome to post it any time between March 23rd & March 29th. For anyone who needs just a little extra time to submit, weāll continue to reblog works for the following week as a grace period.
As far as actual posting goes, create a post on your own tumblr blog and @playerappreciationweek , as well as tag #playerappreciationweek2026. If you write a fic, we encourage you to add it to the ao3 collection, Player Appreciation Week 2026. You can then make a tumblr post with the link to your work. We will reblog the posts for everyone to find.
Leading up to the event, if you would like to send a short teaser for your work, please submit it as an ask to this blog with the prompt and day it is for. Once it gets closer to posting week, weāll post it as an advertisement to help us all get hyped!

When heās working as Carmenās mission control, hacking into mainframes and doing all the not-quite-legal things needed to make the nightās caper a success, Player feels like heās on top of the world. Skills wickedly sharp and with a mind to match, he can code rings around anyone or anything thrown his way. When heās seated at his setup in his room, no one, VILE included, can touch him.
But there are downsides to standing atop a pinnacle, and many who would rejoice in a fallā¦

After all, he'd spentĀ yearsĀ being mission control for a team of vigilantes fighting a centuries-old criminal empire, where carefully-laid plans could be upended in a heartbeat and where it was a toss-up whether the fuzzy shadow on the security camera feed was a wayward night guard or someone armed with a crackle rod and theĀ worstĀ intentions. Expecting the unexpected was the order of the day.
Still, as he sat in his desk chair staring at his monitor, surprise was what gripped him.
