Myranda and or Mya threatening Pod? (bonus if he thinks his cover is blown)
Podâs staring at his phone and he almost walks straight into Myranda as he is coming out of the bathroom. âWoah. Sorry,â he says, his phone slipping out of his hand and...and of course it lands in her cleavage. Myrandaâs shorter than he is, and very curvy, and his hand twitches while he waits for her to hand the phone back to him.
âSorry. Didnât see you. Thanks,â he says, and he makes to move around her, but Myranda grabs him by the arm.
âWhatever it is youâre doing, stop it now.â
Pod blinks. He doesnât even know how to respond to that. âWhat do you mean? What Iâm--â
âYou know exactly what Iâm talking about.â Her voice is hard.
âI donât--is this about yesterday, because if so, I already--â
âItâs not about yesterday. You know it.â Her voice drips with derision, and Pod remembers Mya saying Sheâs all smiles and laughs but donât cross her. Sheâs brutal.Â
âThen I donât--â
âYouâre spending time with her, and you should know better than to do that. Sheâs taken.â
Pod freezes, his head whirling. She doesnât know, beats out Is she saying... by just a second. âWeâre friends, Myranda. I know sheâs dating Harry.â
âDo you? Because youâre spending a lot of time with her.â
âFriends spend time together.â
âOh please.â
âAnd guys and girls can be just friends.â
âYouâre lying in wait, you prick.â
âI am not,â Pod insists, his voice squeaking. Heâs not. He canât be.
âI donât believe you. And you had better keep your distance. I donât want you all up in her mind and all over her fucking album.â
âAll over her album?â But Myrandaâs let go of him and has already flounced off, determined to have had the last word.Â
All over her album? He remembers Alayne humming, her fingers drumming against the table during lunch, a quiet smile on her face. Iâve got a new song in mind, sheâd told him.
His stomach lurches and he thinks heâs going to be sick.
Myranda is Alayne's friend, right? If so her reaction to Sansa. Or if not that, Alayne's friends' reactions to Sansa (Harry?).
Alayne doesnât fucking call him, and he canât say he gives a shit. It was about me, you know? âDonât Need It.â It was about me. Her bumbling fucking moron friend Pod didnât seem like such a bumbling moron while sheâd been in the bathroom. His face had gotten hard and what was Harry supposed to do if not throw a punch at him?Â
Alayne doesnât call him. Maybe sheâs still at the precinct. Heâs not sure he cares. He moves up his flight so that heâs leaving for London tomorrow. Heâll go back home and lick his wounds. Anyaâs already trying to keep the fight off the gossip blogs, but he doubts thatâll happen. He knows that they eat this shit up.Â
âDaddy?â Alys says when he calls her from the airport.
âComing home soon sweetheart,â he tells her. It only makes him angrier. Alys was only starting to feel comfortable around Alayne, and now sheâs not even fucking calling. People call him a bad dad, but whatever. Fuck them. Itâs not his fault his girlfriend doesnât give a shit. If this is it, whatâs he supposed to tell Alys?
He stews on the plane. He downs a sleeping pill and some champagne and before he knows it, heâs in Heathrow and Alayneâs halfway around the fucking world. And she got mad when I didnât text her. Fuck her. Fuck her hypocrisy.
When he turns his phone off airplane mode, itâs been three days since the fight and thereâs a text from Myranda Royce. He opens it, half-expecting her to make some excuse for Alayne. Heâs never understood their friendship, but heâs angry enough that heâd assume Alayne might ask Myranda to do that. Alayne hates taking responsibility for shit. Sheâs horrible at it.Â
Have you heard?
Heard what?
Thereâs a bubble that pops up with three little dots and Harry stares at the screen. Whatâs she typing? He doesnât know. Whatâs taking her so long.Â
Part of him wonders if something happened to Alayne.
Itâs a mess
That didnât take almost a minute of typing to saay, and Harry almost shoves the phone in his pocket but he doesnât because there are three more dots. Myrandaâs typing again.
Sheâs at the center of this abducted child case thatâs been cold. I donât have more details than that. But it looks like it was a fake identity the whole time. Alayne Stone doesnât exist. Sheâs someone else.
Harry stares at his phone. How many times had people on twitter called her fake?Â
He switches the phone conversation to the last text heâd sent Alayne before theyâd gone out four nights before. In a cab on my way.
His fingers hover over the screen for just a moment. What does he even say?Â
Youâre not Alayne?
Fuck it--she owes him the truth at least.Â
Itâs past midnight, and itâs quiet in the common room. Aryaâs eyes are starting to go blurry. Thereâs only so many times you can edit a paper before your eyes roll into the back of your head and sink down into your stomach, right? Thatâs what she tells herself, anyway. Only three more pages, she thinks. Only three more. But sheâs read the same line six times, and canât remember what sheâs even arguing anymore.Â
Her computer makes a noise at her and she switches to her gmail.Â
âWhat the fuckâs this?â she asks Hot Pie.
âJust read it,â he says.
She clicks the link which takes her to Buzzfeed. You wonât believe this conspiracy theory about Alayne Stone.
âI donât even listen to Alayne Stone,â she says. Thatâs Bran who does.
âJust read it, ok?â Hot Pie says, and Arya scrolls down, and reads aloud,
âThereâs some people on Youtube who think that Alayne Stone is Sansa Stark, a high-profile missing personâs case thatâs over a decade old.â Arya snorts. âJesus Christ, youtube conspiracy theories.â
The Buzzfeed author has placed a picture of smiling Sansa next to a tumblr gif of Alayne smiling in one of her music videos. She does look kind of like some old photographs of mom, Arya thinks, But her eyes are the wrong color. No one in her family has green eyes. Not even close. Grey and blue, but not green.
âSomeone needs to get their head checked, I think,â she says, and copies the link out of her gchat and texts it to Bran.
A few minutes later, her phone buzzes. Bran shouldnât be awake, she thinks, but heâs only barely replied. :-P God, if only.
Arya rolls her eyes and turns her attention back to....her eyes go crossed for a moment. Nope, thatâs a sign. She canât even remember what sheâs writing about. Sheâs going to bed.
Since I have some new followers (:D)--

She hasnât been sleeping. Pod can see that from the dark circles under her eyes. He brings her coffee which she doesnât drink, and he shares nervous glances with Brienne, who asks if sheâs taking care of herself--a question she doesnât respond to.
Then she comes in with no hair and Pod canât help it. He knows heâs not supposed to talk to her--itâs for the best. Keep distance while Brienne sorts out some more details with her, keep his head down and his contact with the case through reports. But she comes in with a headscarf to cover her scalp and sunglasses to hide her face and Pod grabs her arm.
âSansa,â he breathes. âDid you...did you cut your own...â
She nods from behind the huge black sunglasses. âLast night.â
Her voice is dry, but surprisingly light. Smooth. She knows how to pretend. Itâs a thought thatâs chilling.
âSansa,â he says again, and he reaches up and pulls the sunglasses off her face. She doesnât stop him. Her eyes are red--bloodshot. She didnât sleep. Sheâd been crying. Her hair is gone.
Pod glances at Brienne who is pretending not to be watching closely, and Sandor who isnât pretending, then he takes Sansaâs hand and leads her into the lounge. Itâs empty, thank god.
âYouâre not fine,â he says, thinking quickly. âThatâs more than understandable. Iâd be the same, Iâm sure.â
âWould you?â Her head is cocked and sheâs watching him. âHow would you know. Have you lived a lie for the last ten years? By my count itâs only been a few months.â
It stings. She sounds like Sandor.Â
âHave you slept?â
âNo. I canât.â
âHave you taken any sleeping pills?â
âItâs all I can do not to swallow a bottle of them.â
Pod looks at her, alarmed, his mouth dropping open and before he can even begin to think of what to say next, tears fill her eyes again. âGod damn it,â she says, and her voice is thick. âI thought I was done crying.â
If she were Alayne, and he were still silly bumbling Pod, heâd hug her. If they were sitting on his couch watching Battlestar Galactica, or if he were chilling in her practice room while she noodled on the piano, heâd have pulled her into a bear hug. But heâs a cop and sheâs his case so all he can do is put a hand on her shoulder, and he shouldnât even be doing that.
âYou spoke with your uncle yesterday?â he asks her.Â
She nods. âYeah. Edmure.â She presses the sleeve of her sweatshirt to her eyes. Â
âHow was it?â
âHard.â
That was a dumb question, he thinks. She went back to her hotel and shaved her head. Of course it was hard.
âAre you...are you going to see them soon? Are they coming out?â
Sansa pulls out her phone. âRandaâs booking a flight for me to go out this weekend.â She says. âAs if theyâre not all going to hate me.â
âTheyâre not going to hate you,â Pod says. âTheyâve been assuming youâre dead. Theyâll want to see you.â
âAnd what will they see?â she asks and she sounds hysterical now. âWho will they see? Iâm not...â her voice breaks and she lets out a strangled sob and fuck it, heâs hugging her. He pulls her close and she sobs into his chest, clutching his shirt and heâs squeezing her so tight. Sheâs warm, and shaking, and alive.
âTheyâll see you,â he says. âThe same way I see you.â
âYou donât--â Sansa begins, but he cuts her off.
âI see someone who tries to make major songs sound sad because minor songs can sound happy if you do that right, but no one tries to make major songs sound sad. I see someone who likes lemon cakes, and who wishes she could draw and who knits her way through meetings to give herself something to do with her hands. I see someone who listens, who is thoughtful, and caring, and passionate. And you donât see her right now because you think sheâs Alayne, but sheâs not. Sheâs you. And maybe there are parts of Alayne that arenât you, but Iâm willing to be that not all of her isnât you--just as not all of her isnât Sansa.â
Sheâs still trembling, but sheâs not sobbing quite so intensely.Â
âMy head wonât stop hurting,â she says at last. âIâve taken so much ibuprofin, but my headache wonât go away.â
âProbably because youâre not sleeping. Are you eating?â
She doesnât move. Pod sighs. âTake some sleeping pills tonight. If you need me to come and make sure you donât swallow the whole bottle, Iâll do it. Remember to breathe. Just because he forced you to lie doesnât mean you donât exist, Sansa. I promise you--you do.â
Iâm going mad.Â
Itâs the only thing she can think. Â Iâm going mad. Â Iâm losing my mind.
âSansa? Â Itâs...Itâs your uncle Edmure.â Â Her throat is too dry to talk.
you could be my uncle, couldnât you? no sansa. Â it makes custody much harder. Â better that iâm your father.
âAre you there? Â Hello?â
yes. Â no. Â can you be my daughter? iâm alayne father, who else would i be?
It feels like ripping skin off--layers and layers of skin. Â Is this her true skin? Â Or is that? Â Is she a snake? Â Is she an onion?
She stares at herself in the hotel mirror. Â Blue eyes stare back. Momâs eyes. Â Branâs eyes. Â Itâs your uncle Edmureâs eyes. Â Blue eyes and brown hair.
My father has brown hair.   Her father, or her dad?  She canât remember.  She canât          think.Â
âAre you there?â
yes. no.
Sansa. Â Alayne. Â Sansa. Â Alayne. Â Her head hurts. Â Pictures of Bran and Arya and Rickon on a manila folder. Â Podrickâs face--serious and his eyes sad.
She looks in the mirror and blue eyes brown hair itâs so confusing because sheâs both right now.  Sheâs both.  She has auburn hair she gets it colored once a month when the roots start to come in, she has auburn hair, but she just got it colored and so itâs Alayneâs hair with Sansaâs eyes.
Her skin is coming off. Â Her skin is coming off because whatâs true and whatâs not? Â Whatâs just another lie she told herself to pull through, and what does she say when itâs her uncle Edmure on the other line, asking her if sheâs there, because is she there? Â Is she really? Â How about now? Â How about now? Â Because she looks at herself and sheâs not there. Â Sheâs not anywhere at all. Â Is she there? Â How about now? Â How about--
She grabs the razor and turns it on and the little spinning heads begin to buzz. Â Her hand is oddly still even though the rest of her is trembling as she raises the razor to her head and watches as brown hair falls into the sink. Â Brown hair. Â Alayneâs hair.
And when itâs gone, she has Sansaâs eyes and no hair anymore. Â She starts to laugh. Â It isnât funny, but sheâs laughing anyway.
Maybe Iâm going mad. Â Or maybe Iâm not.
Itâs funny, she thinks. Â It feels like something from a song I could write.

OKâI started posting @planlessfic to AO3. Â
Sansa is/was âAlayne Stone,â a pop star whose âfatherâ Petyr Baelish was her manager and not actually her dad. Sheâs an open/cold missing persons case, and Brienne (of) Tarth and Sandor Clegane have been working on it for literally years. They have a fluke moment of âholy shit, Alayne Stone is totally Sansa Starkâ and the new cop on their team, Podrick Payne, goes undercover and they solve it.
Hereâs how the breakdown works:
Even Before - Iâm not sure how many drabbles will go into that one, but I had one that took place right after Sansaâs disappearance and it was so much earlier than the rest of the action that I wanted to keep it in a separate thing.  Not sure how much from that âtime periodâ I want to deal with; weâll see.  But itâs there.
Before You Say Goodbye - The stuff that takes place before/while Pod is undercover. Â
When You Say Goodbye - The oneshot that Ruined Everything by not staying a oneshot.
After You Say Goodbye - In which Sansa deals with the fallout of being Sansa again. Â And probably some other stuff too. Â
Other stuff:
How to send in prompts
Other FAQ
probably wonât make it in tonight. Â just was invited to a party by michael redfort. Â donât worry--iâll be thinking of you.
Alayne rereads the text message three times, and tries to ignore that sinking feeling in her stomach. Â âHeâs not coming,â she tells Myranda, who looks up from her laptop. Â
âOh?âÂ
âYeah.â
Myranda doesnât say anything, and Alayne can tell sheâs pleased. Â She is happiest when Harryâs not around. Â Though this will probably mean some photos in the magazines of Harry out and about in New York, wondering why Alayneâs not with him if heâs stateside. Â Because Alayne doesnât like New York. Â It reminds her of someone she isnât. Â And gives her a headache.
She hopes that this time, at least, there wonât be photos of him with some blonde girl on his arm, speculating that heâs cheating on her. Â
Her fingers hover over her phone screen.
will you be out tomorrow, then? she wants to ask, but she knows Harry will blow off that text. Â He always does. Â So instead, she types oh. Â thatâs too bad. Â have fun tho. xoxo
Itâs how Alayne finds herself alone in her condo at 9pm, wishing she could find a show on netflix that would carry her into the next day. Â But sheâs antsy. Â She looks at her phone, scrolls through twitter and tries to see some sign of Harry. Â But she canât. Â No, she thinks. Â Donât do this to yourself. Â Itâs not worth it. Â She closes the app, and feels her face crumple. Â Iâm alone. Â Iâm alone. Â
She could go out dancing--text Mya or Myranda, or just go to some bar and down a few whiskeys. Â But sheâs sure Myrandaâs busy, and Mya never replies to texts in the evening, and the idea of drinking whiskey on her own is just as unappealing as thinking about what Harry is doing without her right now.
Her fingers hover over her phone for a moment, then she texts Pod.
You doing anything tonight?
Almost immediately, she sees the little bubble appear that indicates that heâs typing, but it takes a few moments before the reply comes across. Â Trying not to bumble in his text, she thinks fondly.
Not really. Â Trying to decide if I should watch Battlestar Galactica the way Myaâs always telling me to.
Want to do something? she asks.
Youâre dating someone, she thinks. Â You shouldnât be suggesting doing something with another guy. Â But sheâs alone, and she hates being alone.
I think yours and my budget for an evening out donât look anything alike.
Itâs such an honest answer that Alayneâs heart swells, for all she feels suddenly guilty. Â We could watch Battlestar Galactica together, she suggests.
That I could do. Â Iâll come over?
Sure. Â See you soon.
She exhales, and stares at her phone for a moment. Â Then she flips it over and goes to see if she has any popcorn in the house.

Brienne drops her off in her house, and she sees her waiting in the car until sheâs safely inside. She stands in the vestibule breathing hard and looks in the mirror. Itâs dark. She hasnât turned the lights on yet. She looks like herself. Even auburn hair would be black at night, she thinks. Harryâs hair is dark when he sleeps. Everythingâs dark at night.
She stares at the shape of herself, then pulls her phone from her pocket. The batteryâs almost dead but she turns on the flashlight and looks at herself again. Pale face, dark hair, and eyes that are too light.Â
Sheâs used to looking at her eyes. She has to when she puts her contacts in and everything. But sheâs never really looked at how the blue fits in with the rest of her face. It doesnât with my dark hair, she thinks.
She shuts off the flashlight and googles a hotel and calls.
Five minutes later, sheâs in a cab. She canât stay at that house. Not tonight. Not ever.
Can I please has a "omg they're gonna kiss they're gonna kiiiisssssssss" but then Something Happens so they don't kiss moment.
She is at the precinct all night. After Pod leaves, Brienne Tarth comes back in with a cup of coffee and a recording device and asks if sheâd be willing to make a statement.Â
Her eyes flit to the two-way mirror. Sheâs sure Pod is back there. Sheâs sure heâs still watching her. Her stomach twists. You were my friend, she thinks. Was it a lie?Â
Is it all lies, forever and ever and ever?
Pod isnât supposed to be a liar. Heâs supposed to be honest. The good kind of honest. The kind of honest that made her feel safe, like when she was a girl, like when Ned--when her father was still alive.Â
She swallows.Â
âSansa?â Brienne asks carefully.Â
âSorry,â she hears herself say. Itâs late. Sheâs tired. Sheâs upset. Sheâs...sheâs not sure. Sheâs not sure of anything. Not sure who she is.
âOf course,â Brienne says. Good cop, bad cop, lying cop. Thatâs what that team is. âItâs late. Maybe you should go home and come back in tomorrow?â
Is it even my home? It was bought with his money. And Alayneâs.Â
Alayne doesnât have green eyes anymore.
She nods, and pulls out her phone and...who does she have? Who can she text? She doesnât want to go back there, and she canât bear to face Mya, or Myranda, and...god, Harry. Where is Harry? She doesnât even know if she can ask that right now.
âSansa?â
Every time she says the word Sansa, she feels like sheâll cry. Iâm not, she thought. Not anymore. I canât be. Not again.
The door opens and she sees Pod come in. Heâs scruffy--not so much a five oâclock shadow as a three in the morning shadow. Liar, she thinks, and her cheeks are wet. Liar, but Iâm here. And theyâre alive.
But am I? Who am I?
Iâm Alayne, father. Who else would I be?
Podâs crossing the room, and kneeling down next to her, and gently, she feels him take her hand. âYouâre not alone,â he whispers to her. âYouâre not.â
Heâs so close, and he smells like his deodorant wore off hours ago, and itâs tangy in her nose. He smells like Pod, and all she can think as she looks at him is how heâs a liar, but heâs not--not really. He had a reason. If sheâs a liar, why canât he be a liar too, and if heâs a liar, maybe he wonât hate her for lying the way everyone else will and--and--
She wants to hold him so close she can feel his heart pounding against her chest.Â
âWeâll get you home safely,â Brienne says. âIâm headed up towards Andersonville. Iâll give you a ride, if youâd like.â
She nods, and Pod squeezes her hand, and his eyes are so tired. So gentle.
@helgeke replied to your post âBrienne/Pod/Sandor brainstorming?â
Thank you!! Everything I hoped and more.

Brienne + Starks is always A+ Why is Brienne SO committed to this case (besides the fact that she is Good and Pure)? Can I have some Brienne/Starks backstory please.
âI donât see how itâs a conflict of interest.â
âMrs. Stark was your professor in college, Brienne.â Professor Stark, Brienne corrects internally. Professor of literature. She focused on Arthurian mythology.
âSo? Thatâs not going to affect my search for her murderer.â
âBrienne...â Jaimeâs face is somber. âBrienne, it was a car accident. Thereâs no way someone could have orchestrated it. This is exactly what Iâm talking about.â Brienne glowers at him. âItâs a closed case, Brienne. Vehicular manslaughter. No witnesses.âÂ
Brienne looks down at her hand, then through the plate glass window out into the bullpen. She sees Edmure Tully there, Professor Starkâs younger brother. He looked so young, his face was pale, and his eyes the same shade of blue. Sitting on his lap was a little girl with a long face and dark hair. Her eyes were grey and red. Sheâd been crying. Arya. Brienne had met her when sheâd been a baby.Â
âWhat about Sansa?â
Jaime shifts uncomfortably. âWeâve got a team working on her,â he says.Â
âI want to be on it,â she says. âThatâs not a conflict of interest. Sheâs actually missing.â It is, but Brienne has to...has to do something.Â
Lannister looks down at the papers on the desk again, and Brienne watches him closely. And when he pushes the file towards her with his prosthetic, Brienneâs heart leaps in her chest. âFind her,â he says. âThat much, at least, you can do.â

Brienne/Pod/Sandor brainstorming?
âI donât know,â Podâs voice is clipped. âI donât know. I donât have anything to back it up. There are no hard facts. Period.â
âBut youâre still sure.â Brienne sounds tired. They are all tired. Theyâve been sitting here for the past three hours, and theyâve made no headway. None. Â
âYes,â Pod says.
âBecause the little bird got a look on her face when talking about her mother,â Sandor snorts. âMaybe sheâs a bad liar.â
âNo--it wasnât a lie,â Pod says. âLook, whenever she talks about Pansy Stone,â He jabs at the manila folder thatâs full of Pansy Stoneâs information--her birth and death certificate, even proof of some hospital visits sheâd made while pregnant at the right time for her to be Alayne Stoneâs mother. âShe gets this look on her face. Like sheâs in a war zone, or something. Her face gets hard, her voice gets hard. Like youâd better not ask her questions about it. A âyou canât handle the truthâ kind of thing. Every time.â
âOf course. If her mother was abusive--â
âBut this time,â Pod hates talking over Brienne. Hates it. Brienne gets talked over enough by Sandor, but he wasnât done with his point, and he knows what Brienneâs going to say. âHer voice was soft, her face was soft. She was remembering getting ice cream and playing dress up and she never remembers anything good about Pansy Stone.â
âSo youâre running off a hunch,â Sandor says.
âInstinct,â Brienne corrects.
âHunch. Instinct. Whatever. This case explodes if we do it wrong, and do you really want Lannister up our ass about it?â
âI know that,â Brienne says at the same time Pod says, âLook--Iâm still working on it, ok? I am.â
âYeah,â Sandor snorts. âYou are.â
Pod glares at him. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âYou get all starry-eyed whenever you talk about her. You think sheâs some damsel in distress whoâll fall into your arms when you rescue her?â
âDo you?â Pod snaps. âThatâs the first time anyoneâs brought that up, Sandor.â
Sandor starts to growl, leaning forward in his seat. âAll right,â Brienne says. âIâm calling it done for the day. Meet up again tomorrow afternoon.â
âCanât,â Pod says. âTold Alayne Iâd meet her after sheâs finished her studio time.â
Sandor gives him a look. Shut up, Pod thinks angrily. Shut up shut up shut up. He doesnât like it when Sandorâs like this. Or rather, he doesnât like it when Sandorâs like this with him. Sandorâs got an eye for this shit. I know, all right? he wants to yell. I know I care too much.
âSometimes I still remember putting on her dresses and jewelry and sheâd tell me I was more beautiful than she could ever be,â Alayne had said. No. Not Alayne.
Sansa. Sansa had said that.
Sansa getting nervous before her first concert and thinking of her parents/family?
Pod stumbles and spills his coffee everywhere, and Myranda laughs. âI thought youâd get less clumsy as you got less nervous,â she says, reaching over to the countertop and chucking a roll of paper towels at him. Pod grimaces.
âI wish,â he mutters.Â
âYou ok?â Alayne asks. Heâs covered in coffee, and heâs plucking his blue t-shirt away from his skin.Â
âYeah. Just stained,â he sighs. He crouches down to pick up the shattered mug, and to wipe up the coffee with some paper towels.
Alayne crouches down next to him and rips up some paper towels as well. âIf itâs any consolation, I face planted on my first concert ever,â she says. She tries not to think about that concert. But thatâs for other reasons.
âReally?â Pod asks. He half-smiles. âWhat happened?â
She should have expected that, and flushes. I thought I saw my father in the crowd she wants to say. It had just been the lights, sheâd told herself later. The bright stage lights will make anyone with a long face look like what she remembered of Ned Stark. She remembers words coming out of her mouth, and singing, and her fingers on piano keys moving through well-practiced progressions, but the actual performance...she doesnât really remember it at all.
âAlayne?â
âMy heels got stuck in the floorboards,â she says. âIt was on this old wooden stage, and I thought I was going to be all grown up and wear stilettos,â she shudders and smiles at him. âMy father was worried Iâd broken my nose, but I was fine.â
âSomeone as graceful as you doesnât trip up easy.â Pod sounds jealous. Alayne shrugs.Â
âHappens to everyone at some point,â she says. She feels chilly, she feels her stomach twist the way it does whenever she thinks of Ned Stark, and scared little Sansa, all alone. No. Stop it. You mustnât.
She looks at Pod. His face is all sweet. âDo you need a t-shirt?â she asks, glancing at his stained one. âI probably have one of Harryâs you could borrow.â
A conflicted expression flits across his face, and she does her best to ignore it. Itâs all right that he doesnât like Harry. Not everyone has to like Harry. It would be easier if he did, though. She feels like Pod not liking someone is a condemnation.
âSure,â he says at last. âThanks.âÂ
She leads him upstairs to her bedroom and pulls out one of Harryâs old shirts. Itâs too big for her, and sheâs taken to wearing it as a sleeping shirt, and she tosses it to Pod before leaving the room. As she closes the door, she catches a glimpse of him stripping off his t-shirt and feels her eyebrows raise. Sheâd not expected the six-pack from bumbling, sweet, kind Podrick.
