Jace was tempted to shout again, but didnāt think it would do much good. Besides, he did play chess. He was quite good at it.

Of all the surprises of this day, getting asked a polite question should not have ranked high on the list.

If I scream, I donāt know if Iāll ever stop. So I better not scream. Would crying help? Iām open to crying if it will help.

Liliana Vess had spent her whole life seeking not to die, and for the first time in her long existence she wondered if she had been pursuing the wrong goal.

Liliana was comfortable with the dead and their smell. But there was a rotten quality to this smell Liliana found troubling.

She looked to each of their faces. Gideon, exasperated. Chandra, exhausted. Nissa, furious. And Jace, pained. āOh, wonderful.ā Liliana smiled for lack of a better expression. āIām sure this will end well.ā

Thereāll be change.
I suppose it would make sense to change the name of the blog soon. I wonāt just be posting Magic stuff here anymore. Iāll still be doing the ebooks of the collected daily MtG stories, regardless of the disgusting choice to list āMagic Story Teamā instead letting us know who really wrote the story.
Iām reading a lot more Sword and Sorcery stuff. You know, Conan the Cimmerian, Elric of Melnibone and Fafhrd and, the Gray Mouser. So, Iāll be quoting the stories quite heavily. Also, more reading of Dungeons and Dragons novels - lies, itās really only Drizzt - so more of that.
Further, quotes are fun and all, but I want to discuss fantasy literature and the games it appears in. So, Iāll be making some posts on analyzing select pieces of work and comparing others. Iād like to say, Iāll be comparing a eugenicist and the Prince in the Scarlet Robe. Iāll also be comparing a dude with a sword and his wizardy buddy in a big city with a wizardy dude and his buddy with a sword in a big city.
Finally, after much deliberation, Iāve decide to rename the blogĀ āMetal & Magic.ā Is it because I enjoy heavy metal? Is that a subtle reference to Sword and Sorcery? Is it meant to share name structuring with Dungeons and Dragons? Is āMagicā in the title because I like Magic the Gathering? Is āMetalā in the title because Iām hard headed in my love of old MtG lore that I have to reference how Xod inĀ āThe Thranā mentioned different metals effect different types of mana in the multiverse and am mentioning it in the hopes it arouses attention and makes at least one story writer play around with that idea for the 25th anniversary? Yes.
Why does that bother you so much? Your enemy is slain, but you wanted to do it yourself?
