Happy new year! How did y'all spend your day? It's an odd day, especially this year. Some people are hungover, some people are kicking off their new resolutions, some people are struggling with depression, some people just do not care. And that's the standard for most years. Was this year different for you? Did you like it or no? I spent my day the same way I've spent pretty much every day this past year-either in the garden or at Home Depot doing garden related things. I don't know about you but I'm extremely grateful for this year. Don't get me wrong, the amount of human suffering we've seen this year makes my heart ache. There has been SO MUCH we've had to contend with this year and I’d be a fool if I believed that it was over just because the calendar year is about to change. But in taking stock of the past year I see a lot of growth. I see a shift in so many ways that we live our lives. A shift that I hope we maintain. This year has really highlighted a lot of ugliness and I hope we continue to work on bettering those flaws both as individuals and as a community. This year has given us a lot of challenges. Like. so. many. challenges. But I've seen a lot of resiliency, strength, and compassion come from it. I hope we hold on to those traits. The future is happening right now and we have much more influence than we know. I hope we take the lessons that we've learned this year and hold them tightly as we continue to march forward. As for me, my life feels a thousand miles away from what it used to be and I couldn't be more excited about where it's heading.
