Do I have many WIPs? Yes.
Have most of them ever seen the light of day? No.
But every once in a while a fic grabs me by the throat and refuses to let go.
Anyway, here's seven chapters about love across time.
Yours, always (Rating: T)
Premise:
The Room of Requirement is supposed to give you what you need.
In September 1895, it gave Josephine Hale a notebook.
And a boy named Sebastian Sallow, writing from January 1891.
This fic was inspired by Il Mare (The Lake House if you're more familiar with the remake). I originally had a one-shot about anonymous note exchanges in the Room of Requirement, watched the movie, reopened the draft, and immediately made things more complicated for myself.
A small note: Josie is half-Korean as a homage to Il Mare. I'm not Korean and I don't have Korean heritage, though I did my best to research where I could. If something feels off, please feel free to let me know kindly.
Also, what started as a homage somehow became part of the fic's structural integrity, which is a very writer sentence but unfortunately true.
If you're a fellow enjoyer of red strings of fate, bootstrap paradoxes, impossible correspondence, and two people falling in love despite several years standing between them, this one's for you.
