- the group come across an abandoned car, the only person that knows how to drive is clementine unfortunately due to her losing her leg she can’t but clementine gets to teach Louis how to drive

after everything that has happened at Ericson’s and the delta boat, so much death. That kinda death changes people, the shift wasn’t major but noticeable. A lot of the kids at Ericson’s played the tough guy act, everyone apart from Louis. Clem noticed the shift and she couldn’t help but feel like she was the problem.

once everything calmed down Louis took good care of clem. it was hard to adjust to only having one leg, most days she felt pathetic. From being one of the most reliable in the group to hardly being able to hold her own. luckily the place was looking much better than when her and AJ first came across it. Slowly but surely relationship were being repaired, problems got sorted. As a group decision the safe zone got pushed a lot further, there were a few votes to get rid of the safe zone entirely but we eventually found an even ground. clem would go as far as saying she was proud of this place and she’s sure Lee would say the same thing.

Since the safe zone got pushed there were new parts being discovered. New buildings, more food. the safe zone keeps expanding, we’ve had some encounters with other survivors but they’ve all moved on.

during the time Louis took care of clem, they grew increasingly closer than they were, Clem was part of Louis’s routine as much as Louis was part of clem’s. They spend hours gossiping, playing board games, telling stories of their past.

it didn’t surprise people when Louis and Clem became official, it’s just what happens when two people spend that amount of time together.

Willy and AJ would go out most mornings, scope out the land, have a look for food and reset the traps. They were walking towards the fishing shack when AJ noticed a vehicle they haven’t ever seen on the trail. AJ and Willy approached the car with caution incase of any walkers. once they were close enough to see into the car. They noticed a ton of supplies in the back of the car, unfortunately there was a walker in the drivers seat.

“We’ve gotta tell the others” AJ whispered towards Willy

“It’s only one walker, it’s no big deal” Willy said with certainty “we’ve dealt with worse”

AJ didn’t budge from the situation insisting that they got the others, Willy was disappointed on the way back. He thought they totally had it, he explained to the others

“Clem should come, she knows about cars” AJ persisted, he misses when him and Clem would go out on adventures ever since she got bit, She’s not left the school premises.

“Come on little man, anything could happen to Clem outside of the school” Louis argued back “it’s just not safe” he added while shaking his head

“I think Clem should go” violet chimed in “we would send extra people to go with her so she can check it out”

“Don’t we think I should decide?” Clem commented “it’s unlikely that it’ll still work, it’s a shot in the dark plus AJ I thought you were sick of cars”

“I want you to teach me how to drive, you promise you would” he whined

“I don’t even think you can reach the pedals comfortably yet”

“Think about how useful a car would be clem” violet pushed “I really think we should take the chance and check it out”

“okay fine I’ll do it”

“Clem you can’t be serious, what if something happens and we have to run”

“You can’t run” Louis slightly raised his voice dripping with concern

“then you’ll just have to watch my back”

the plan was simple enough, Having two scout ahead in-front of clementine, one behind clem and one at clementine at all times. That was the plan of getting there once they got there, they would spread out. One would stay with clementine, the rest looking for walkers or any danger.

the two in front was Violet and Willy, AJ insisted on behind clementine so he could make sure nothing bad happened to her. Louis being posted right beside clem.

“I can’t believe you would agree to do this” Louis spoke sounding disappointed as they walked “other people could have checked it out instead of putting you in danger” he added

“ I really don’t think the others know much about cars, I’m sure Kenny would be disappointed in me if I didn’t check it out”

“I think he would prefer for you to be alive clem” he emphasised with that Louis tone which means there’s no convincing him that it’s worth it

once they reached the car, they could see the supplies Willy and AJ were talking about. Even if the car wasn’t working at least there were a few extra hands to carry some of it back. Willy and Violet already dealt with the walker you could see as Violet grabbed the body out of the car door.

“I wonder what happened to him” Violet said

the walker was very visibly fresh, must have turned that night. The chances of this thing actually working were huge

AJ finally caught up with the rest of the group “so what do you think clem, does it work?”

“I’m not sure yet AJ” Clem said as she moved closer to get in the car.

first thing she noticed was that the keys were still in the ignition switch. luckily the person didn’t leave the car running, she flipped the keys in the ignition. the car came on but it didn’t start. She uncomfortably moved her right leg over to the clutch and turned the ignition again. It fully started this time

“holy shit, it works and it’s got half a tank” she exclaimed

“So we can go back to the school now, right?” Louis dragging the right on

everyone else ignoring him expressed their happiness, Willy and AJ giving everyone a dance. Violet smiling in the first time in forever

“This is fucking great” Violet expressed

“We’ve got to get it back to the school”

“only one problem” clementine spoke “I’m not really fit to drive this, someone else is gonna have to take it back down”

“I’ll do it Clem, let me do it” AJ was quick to say beaming a smile on his face

“I’m sorry AJ you’re not big enough yet, it’s gonna have to be either Louis or Violet” she told

“fuck that, I’m not driving it ” Violet was quick to speak “Louis can do it, I’m sure it’s just like playing the piano”

“I’m sure AJ could manage, why does it have to be me” he sighed

“Because you play the piano”

“does a car have 88 keys? No it doesn’t Violet” he replied

“Louis your really not making a case for yourself, this only has three “keys” this should be easier” Violet said pointed at the pedals, she gave Clem a look pretty much asking her to hurry up and make a decision

“I think you have this Louis, it’ll be easy” clementine spoke up “just trust me, you’ll get the hang of it in no time” she placed a pity smile towards him knowing he doesn’t have a choice anymore

“okay” he put his hands up in defeat “but if I crash and die, I will haunt every single one of you” he whined “ especially you Violet”

“Yeah yeah same ol’ thing you keep telling me Louis” she brushed off

“We’ll meet you guys back at the school”

“Please be safe clem” AJ came up to Clem giving her a hug before they left “don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine” she hugged him back

“WOW what about me AJ” Louis placed a big exaggerated sad face on “don’t crash” AJ said before running to catch up with Violet and Willy

Louis offers his arm to help Clemente up “see it was worth coming here”

“Yeah no absolutely not cause now I’ve got to drive this thing back to school, DID I MENTION I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE” he said staring at clem

“I’m aware Louis, it’s simple I promise” using Louis arm made it up “ much easier than the piano you keep trying to teach me” she said as she made it round to the passenger seat

they both got in and sat down “I’m gonna assume you know nothing about cars, so see the pedal on your left that’s your clutch”

“It’s the most important part of driving, your left foot is always for your clutch, the break pedal is in the middle you control that with your right foot. You use that for stopping or slowing down the car”

“The last pedal on your right is the accelerator, you use your right foot for that as well. The accelerator works to make you go faster, got it”

“Umm clem I don’t think I caught any of that” he admitted

“that’s okay, we will go through it till you understand”

“Clem i seriously don’t think i can do this” he said sounding defeated he looked away not meeting her gaze

“well it’s not like i can drive us back to the school, so you’ve got to learn” she chuckled to herself

“look CBA clutch break accelerator, repeat it back to me” she spoke firmly pointing towards the petals

“ you make me feel like a child” he whined moving back in the seat

“Then stop acting like one” she stared at him giving him her disapproving look

“CBA clutch break accelerator” he was frowning really feeling like he’s back at school for the first time in years

“there we go, adjust your seat so your foot can fully go down on the clutch”

“Don’t worry the car is in neutral, it won’t move” she moved her hand to double check

he pushes the drivers seat forward a tiny bit putting his foot down on the clutch “sooo what now” he said impatiently

“you can adjust you’re mirrors but Kenny told me not to worry about it, theres usually no other cars behind you on the roads anymore” Louis nodded in approval still coming off as extremely nervous, which clem picked up on.

“Just the handbrake and the gears left” not much left she was sure Louis had this “the handbrake is what you use when coming to a stop, moving off you move the handbrake down to get going” Louis kept nodding

“The gears in this car it’s one to six and you have reverse, you can usually hear when you need to switch gears” she picked Louis hand up and place it on the gearbox “make sure your foot is all the way down on the clutch first before switch gears or moving off”

“Is your foot all the way down?” She asked

“Yes ma’am ready to go” he nervously laughed at his own joke

“Good so we are in neutral right now” Clementine hand is over Louis hand and she starts to move both their hands “can you feel it, loads of wriggle room that’s how you know”

“yupp can feel it like a worm” he smiled wiggling the gear on his own

“We are gonna shift all the gears, just so your comfortable switching gears” moving both their hands to first gear “this is first gear the most important gear, this is the gear you move off on” moving both their hands down to second gear”this is second gear you’ll use this usually straight after moving off”

“Got it so far? Want to try first and second by yourself” she put it back into neutral removing her hand

“I shall teacher clem, so foot down on the clutch” he spoke out loud what he was doing “up first gear down second gear” as he done it

“see pretty easy right” she placed her hand back over his moving both their hands to third” this is third you’ll hear the engine make a weird noise and you’ll know to go up a gear” she moved both their hands down to forth gear “this is forth” moving their hand to fifth gear “ this is fifth” moving to the final gear “this is sixth” she moved the gearstick back into neutral “ and over here is reverse which just backs up the car” she spoke with certainty “think you can go through that yourself”

“That I can do teach” as he went through the gears somewhat showing off what he’s learned “you can skip going down gears but never going up them but you can worry about that later” she explained

“Right I think we are ready to get this moving, what do you say”

“Uhhh let me try the gears one more time” he nervously said. Clem watched him as he went through them again as he breezed through it “all ready to go teach” he exclaimed

“right your going to place your foot down on clutch and turn the keys” he follows what she’s saying as does exactly as she asks “move the gearstick into first then slowly lift the clutch up and at the same time take the handbrake off” he goes to follow her instructions when a sudden jerk off the car happens and the car switches off

“CLEM WHAT HAPPENED DID I BREAK THE CAR” Louis screamed in a panic suddenly really nervous again

“okay don’t panic, you’ve just stalled the car you need to come up slower on the clutch. Put the gearstick back into neutral switch the ignition off and try again just a bit slower this time” she explained calmly

“No clem I can’t do this, I’m shit at this” he frowned giving up defeat

“one mistake that’s it if you’re not doing it then your carrying me back cause I’m not walking back” she stated

“That sounds a lot better than trying again”

“Too bad, start again” Louis gave an over exaggerated sigh before switching the ignition off then starting it again this time he came up on the clutch a lot slower, feeling the car move he took off the handbrake. The car was now moving

“ look there you go” Clementine said with pride “right a little bit on acceleration take your foot fully off the clutch” he followed what she said fully concentrated. The car picked up speed “ good now clutch back down into second gear” he successfully shifted it into second gear “ good now just back to the school now and please do not hit a tree” she laughed a little

“Clementine I’m actually driving, IM ACTUALLY DRIVING I NEVER THOUGHT ID GET TO DRIVE THIS IS SO COOL” he buzzed with excitement “ you are official the best teacher ever” he claimed

He put his foot down on the accelerator a bit more and heard the engine make a racket “ you know what to do” Clem said putting her full faith into him. He took initiative and put the car into third gear “just keep it at that for now” he nodded at this

they were almost back at the school now, Clem looked over to Louis who was completely beaming a smile now. She found comfort in these moments when no one was worrying about what was actually going on in the world. As they approached closer she gave more instructions “start breaking a bit don’t fully put your foot on it just slowly and gently” he followed instruction fully concentrated on the information he’s being given “ clutch down into second gear”

they approached the school they could see AJ and Willy sitting watching on the wall she gave them a quick wave “ put the car over there, clutch and break till you come to a stop. Then handbrake up and pop it into neutral”

“See much easier than a piano” she laughed Louis looked over towards clementine “ you are the coolest girlfriend ever”

“oh so I wasn’t before” she gave him a pretend look of sourness

“I didn’t mean it-“ he was caught off by a kiss from clementine

standing at Louis side when she opened her eyes was a very confused AJ, she quickly became embarrassed when she realised the whole group had come over to see the car both Louis and Clem opened the doors

“Gross you guys better not have did anything in this car” Violet chuckled

“What does that mean” AJ asked confused standing there puzzled

“She means sex idiot” Willy laughed at him

“That is enough from all of you” ruby chimed in with the most disappointing look towards Willy and Violet

“I can’t believe it we have a car, i genuinely didn’t believe you guys” Aasim spoke with a look of surprise

“I wish Brody was here to see this, she would have been ecstatic” Violet frowned with guilt from the past

“Well now I am now a certified driver” Louis said trying to take the sadness away from the comment he came out the car and bowed towards everyone “ taught by yours truly” presenting Clementine

used to going into a trial with other regents. What happens if one takes an injury and stays in the sleep room. Who takes the role of distraction when down a teammate? maybe you get too into the role

you were used to designated roles within your team of “friends” you didn’t know if friends were the right thing to call them. Everyone had the right goal in mind, escape. Others sat in the sleep room all day but you found people with the same pursuit to at-least try.

The trial currently being set up was in the courthouse environment, you’ve not been here for too long but have a rough idea of the trials but this one wasn’t that familiar. According to one of the other regents you were made aware that, the prime asset for this trial was “The cop” you found documents lying around another trial explaining who he was and other prime assets but you go with the name that everyone else uses

only ever having one encounter with him, you were somewhat nervous but if you could escape from Liliya. You could escape from anyone is what you keep telling yourself.

Finally making it into the trials environment, you were cut down from a teammate. Who stayed in the sleep room recovering from an injury. So there was only three of you which means someone had to take his role. Who better than the newest addition to the group, right???

You were trying to argue that you didn’t think you were ready to distract the prime assets while he recovered and they done the tasks.

“It makes zero sense for me to be the mouse here, I’m the least experienced” you tried to argue

They wouldn’t budge so here you are stuck with this role until your teammate recovers.

You reach the first objective in the courtroom and after that everyone somewhat splits apart. You end up going with one of the regents towards an evidence room. Being more experienced at this, they told you that “the cop” would be there and you have to distract him

Luckily you’re equipped with a stun rig, a bottle and two bricks you found on your way. As you and the other regent scope out the area, you spot him in the objective room that your teammate has to go in. You brace yourself knowing you have to evade an insane looking storm cloud of a man.

you crawl up towards him as he mumbles something about “law and order” you then signal towards your teammate to get ready. you then hit him with your bottle causing him to stumble, you get a head start infront of him.

You can hear him call out “if you ain’t guilty then why are you running“ you continue to run out of the area towards the light where you are able to use your rig on him. He keeps up a steady pace behind you

Having the distance in front of you, you dip into a dark room hiding in corner. you could feel your heartbeat as if it was going to rupture from your chest. coming through the door arch stands the cop. It’s his turn to scope out this room, you watch him as he opens up a locker in clear search of you

you gain your composure back knowing you’ll be able to take another chase with him. He opens the other locker you hear him mutter “you ain’t ever clear of the law“

“Come show me the law then” you yelled out slamming one of your bricks onto his chest, making a quick bolt toward a safer area. You can hear him behind you

“I’ll show you all the glory of the law, sweetness” screaming back at you in frustration.

oh. my. fucking. god. why the fuck did you say that, you don’t actually want to find out. You are so fucked, you are so fucked. You’re now here believing you are the most stupid person alive.

Now you’ve got to run from an even more pissed off ex- marine than before. You’ve noticed he’s picked up the pace. Luckily you ran back into the dark hallway but it doesn’t stop the noise you’re making. You take the corner then crouch behind a group of boxes

He’s practically right infront of you right now, definitely not one of your smartest decisions yet. The adrenaline is killing you at this point you feel like you have to make the first move. You were feeling quite good about evading him twice now. You’re ego telling you to keep going

“Sneaked off just when I was getting kinda worked up” he expressed sounding disappointed

“Sounds like you need to do better” flinging another brick at him. Now you’re chuckling to yourself finding this situation humorous.

“Stop resisting” he’s screaming towards your direction. You find your way running back to the original room where you threw the brick at him. Finding it and picking it up on your way out still running.

You finally hear on the intercom that the objective has been completed by your teammates and make a bolt towards the shuttle.

As your at the entrance of the courthouse, You try and catch your breath. unfortunately you hear the sound of the elevator alarm. you pick the pace back up, the way you came. bumping straight into something or a certain someone

“ didn’t think you’d just fling your pretty little self at me after giving me all that trouble” he speaks as he backs you up into a corner locking you with no escape

“Not too bold now ain’t ya sweetness” he lifts his baton dragging it along your waist.

You wince at the pain of the electricity. “Go fuck yourself” you spat at him. Realising your stuck with nothing but one brick

“Now that ain’t no way to speak to law enforcement” he spoke as he kicked you down making you lose your balance

you’ve now found yourself in trouble. He starts reaching for his groin area, this has to be a joke. surely this is against regulations, this cannot happen. unable to use your rig at the moment, all your faith is put on to a brick.

“I think you outta be punished, gettin me all hot and bothered” he reaches to unbutton his trousers. It’s now or you’re never getting out of this.

“why don’t you let me do that” you said as you look up with him making eye contact.

“didn’t realise i had such a fucking slut infront of me, go on then sweetness” he says with a slight chuckle, you couldn’t believe the cockiness from this guy.

You move both your hands from behind your back, only one of them holds the brick you were keeping in your back pocket.

you quickly chuck it at his head causing him to tumble backwards “STUPID COMMIE SLUT” you hear from him but you’re not staying long enough to deal with consequences of that.

you run out the courthouse evading a grunt on the way out. You can see your teammates at the shuttle but it’s not open yet. One of them spot you and begin to open it. You need to catch your breath anyways

you turn to find both the grunt and a very angry cop coming your way. He pushes past the grunt, definitely time to run. You turn back going towards the shuttle

“Better luck next time” you cast a small wave behind you before picking up the pace

“oh I don’t think so sweetness” he grabbed the arm you were tossing behind you. why the fuck did you have to be such a cocky bastard and why did it feel so good knowing you were the winner.

You were fully beaming a grin at him when he pulled you toward him unable to contain it

You threw your stun at him.

“I think so” you gleam with pure pride. you can’t really admit it to others but nothing has felt better than that. You’re lucky you remembered you hadn’t used your stun that round. You hear the shuttle is open you run towards it, noticing your teammates have already went inside.

you decided to watch him recover from the stun at the exit. He swinging his weapon around looking drunk, it’s pretty amusing.

“Maybe next time you’ll get me” you yell towards where he’s running towards you

you blow him a quick kiss and a wave, giggling to yourself as you get in the shuttle.

Writers note- SO GUYS HOW DID I DO. my first little fanfic, I was super nervous writing this( I made my friends read it 100 times before posting ) i want to write about a few other prime assets as I found a lot of enjoyment writing this out. This fanfic actually started out with me writing about all of the prime assets but I got too locked in on coyles so now it’s just the one.
