I agree. I don’t think they’re evil, or even bad intentioned, but i feel like the people mindlessly buying this just want hope. There is no justice and no safety that will come out of this, but i think they just want fewer people to suffer, but are misguided in their methods.

That's what Innkeeper remembers. In her provenly tampered with memories. And quite probably fueled by paranoia already.

She had to fight through pain and poisoning to get those memories back. Why would the Wizard have targeted her if there wasn't something evil there? The signs are all there, if you had been paying attention.

Part of your reasoning is the Lleech being able to partially control its host. By your own logic, could it not have planted that? Perhaps you're letting yourself be puppeted to believe exactly what the evil team wants?
You're operating off a logic that implies that Puzzlemaster is the Lleech host. In any situation where that is true, killing Puzzlemaster is a good thing to do.

...I can see it being true, it's not that. I just... I can see other causes for what has happened. Your explanation makes sense purely mechanically, but humans aren't purely mechanical. You're complex beings. Just look at madness. It's probably the most misunderstood concept I know. Granted, the only reason I don't misunderstand it too is that I've studied it for so long. Most people think madness is just something caused by abilites. But madness is a state of being. A state of conviction. Sometimes it's a negative, sometimes it's a positive. Sometimes you don't even know you're mad. So many things in the human psyche can cause the state of madness.
