The Sims Travelogue

As usual, Alice was enthusiastic, and Catherine was more sceptical about researching new possibilities.

Exploring rifts looks scary, but the girls successfully came back with the stones they found.

The dystopia in TS3 looks a bit creepy, as it's supposed to be. The buildings are dirty, and you can hear kite sounds all day.

I gave Catherine the quest of creating a dystopia, and she really enjoyed acting like a villain. First, she liked using this magnet: it can attract something really expensive.

It seems she (or Emit) was happy that the world was going to end. Finally, the end of all this!

Alice and Catherine looked for key fragments for the entrance all day.

I first thought that it was a graphics glitch. But no, that’s a design decision.

You need to mourn the buried people to see their projections.

Otherwise, you only see a digital tombstone.

It’s interesting that plumbots have tombstones too, but people can’t mourn them.

I didn't care much about their budget in the present, so both families have poor but atmospheric places of residence in the future.

The moon is rising, the night lights are coming on, and the show is going on.

The library looks really unusual, and Catherine fits it perfectly.

But Alice looks like the only bright spot here, even in the children’s room.

I like how she mixes the sounds of playing with foreign songs.

Oddly enough, that’s my first game in this town. And I have mixed emotions.

On the one hand, a central part of the town is beautiful and impressive. And the world looks really futuristic.

But on the other hand, all the food and drinks are synthetic. And the outskirts of the city are really depressing. There is a desert in place of the sea and lots of abandoned houses.

And they will bring something new soon. We're going into the future! And I picked out appropriate outfits for that.

I thought a lot about it and decided to change the format of this blog.

I have to be honest. I don't want to pretend anymore that there are many readers here and that someone really cares. A paradoxical situation has arisen — my subscriptions hardly match my subscribers.

For different reasons I unsubscribed from most of the Sims blogs, and I almost don't have mutuals here. For now, my favorite subscriptions are associated with my other special interest — bird watching. But obviously these bird bloggers are not interested in reading a blog about Sims :) If I had the possibility, I would make a blog with bird photos, but I don't have money for a good camera and binoculars. So my bird blog stays a fantasy for now.

So I don't have much enthusiasm to search for new interesting Sims blogs for myself. I just want to continue my blog so that someone can find my notes — and maybe we can befriend some day.

But I understand that I have to change the format. My present posts have too few readers. I could ignore this if I really enjoyed the creative process, but it's not true.

The long stories take a lot of time and effort for playing, screenshotting and writing, especially considering that English is not my native language. That's why making long posts feels not like a pleasure but like a duty, and I started to avoid it.

As you understand, I don't have resources for longreads anymore, and I have decided to switch to short notes in the future. Fewer pictures, less text in a post. Not a coherent narrative, just individual moments and beautiful screenshots in Sims.

I still want to keep my favorite Catherine and Alice in these posts. And I still want to explore various towns with them. These girls are too important to me — I love them. They are like different parts of my personality. Both of them look like how I wanted to look in different periods of my life. So I want to stay with them and explore with them not only worlds, but also myself.

Everything is transforming, it's all just beginning. Maybe somebody will want to continue the journey with us.
