can i share how much joy and love i’ve found in cosplaying sao again btw. like i exclusively do sao cosplays for work now but it finally feels okay again. i don’t feel gross anymore or panic about what people will have to say about my body or my gender. for the first time since i was 18 i can cosplay sinon without wanting to cry over my legs. i don’t get bullied for loving and relating to suguha anymore. there’s no weeks-long harassment over me cosplaying kirito. it’s just fun and good and light like it used to be again. in a wildly different way for wildly different reasons, but it’s really nice and comforting again like when i first fell in love with it.

told my boyfriend to suck a dick and he told me that was my job. when i said i wanted a relationship like kirito and asuna i didn’t realise i would get their exact dialogue 😭😭

I'm not saying the author's perspective must be treated as paramount in media criticism, but sometimes the most reasonable analysis of a text on its face genuinely is "the author is universalising an experience which they possibly do not realise is not in fact universal".
