We didn't actually start making this to sell. My husband is a huge nerd and wanted to find a good solution to the deodorant conundrum. So he read a bunch of things. Studies, medical textbooks about deodorant, and being a materials engineer, he leaned on his own understanding of how some things work. . When we told friends, they wanted to try it. They started telling their friends. We were giving away a lot of deodorant! . So we decided to see if our friends were just being nice to us. We started a Facebook page and started giving away bottles to strangers, asking for feedback just like we'd done with friends. We refined it and came up with a solution that was nearly universally effective. . But we still weren't convinced. . So we did a Kickstarter campaign to test market viability of the idea. It was a resounding success, particularly when you consider we hired no outside advertisers, and I did the marketing myself when my baby was asleep. . With a lot of market proof and a great idea, we headed to a patent lawyer to hold it down as we grow. . And here we are today. One year later we've hired, sold just shy of 10k bottles, and we've gone through a ton of whiskey and vodka. . Thanks for supporting this small company!
