I don’t STOP for no one *

there’s  a  particular  disbelief  in  this  situation  but  no  discomfort  which  in  itself  is  strange.  heavy  palm  cups  warm  water  from  the  bath  before  tossing  it  atop  the  other  man’s  exposed  nape  with  a  carefully  focused  expression.  the  spot  between  their  shoulder  and  bicep  tasted  steamed  bathroom  air  through  a  wet  patch  on  their  shirt;  not  long  ago  when  the  man  in  the  tub  had  relaxed  enough,  they’d  forgotten  themselves  and  lain  their  head  back  against  him  by  mistake.  an  apology  was  promptly  issued  but  mister  mccree  hadn’t  broken  their  attention  off  from  their  task,  only  nodded  as  they  felt  a  gaze  on  his  cheek.

years  ago  this  gentleman  had  taken  part  in  many  assignments  where  there’d  been  victims  —  victims  of  cruelty  he’d  rather  not  reminisce  on.  they’d  need  the  most  care.  sounds  of  a  towel  being  wrung  with  droplets  hitting  the  water’s  surface  followed.

it’s  this  experience  that  applies  itself  in  those  fingers,  now  kneading  at  pale  arms  to  encourage  the  blood.  he  hadn’t  said  a  word  beyond  explaining  what  he  was  doing  and  why.
