The adventure of a child of light ✨

My last assignment for illustration 2! It was a narrative project to be told in 4 parts/panels. This is retelling the story of Aurora, a princess who is transported to the magical land of Lemuria, from the game Child of Light. I didn’t play it but I loved the story and the art so much, I wanted to show her transformations throughout the game, she needs to restore Lemuria’s light by retrieving the Stars, Moon and Sun, with her friend Igniculus, a firefly 💫

This is one of my favourite pieces for sure! Played a lot more with a line-less style. Which part is your favourite? 🌈

An adventure in a ghost town 👻

Another assignment from my Illustration 2 class, this one was about backgrounds. At this point I started doing more line-less stuff and more coloured line work, and I quite liked doing it! I wanted to illustrate an empty town being explored by two kids, who meet some colourful ghost friends! 🌈✨

My last project in my Illustration 1 class, where the focus was to create any sort of personal project we wanted!

I was actually kind of unsure of what to do this time, until my professor thought my sketchbook spreads were interesting and could work as a whole illustration in itself, so that's what I did, a whole spread of various things together, a magical and whimsical universe to explore 🌈

It’s a flower-y girl stealing an acorn from a mushroom town at the base of a tree, with a guy dressed as a squirrel on lookout!

Typographic collage exploring typeface families through found type for my Graphic Design for Illustration class. (I took pictures of different things and cute them up digitally in photoshop) ✨

My first illustration from second year! For Illustration 1, we were given the word ‘Fall’ and asked to create an image with any interpretation.

I call this piece “The Fall of Summer”, I personified the fall and summer seasons as characters, they are fighting for control of the environment with Fall/Autumn triumphing over Summer, to represent the transition of seasons, it’s sort of a double meaning too, ‘fall’ as the action and as the season, I love wordplay!

Here’s my final assignment for Media Studio: Analogue! I decided to redo the Little Red Riding Hood study from my last post. I changed up some details in the eyes to add more red and made the wolf more sharp to make it more menacing (also… because.. uh, my prof thought it looked like a.. seahorse.. yeah 😅)

Here’s the last set of studies I did for my final assignment for Analogue media! The theme was ‘Fables’ so I did The Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, the Sandman, Hansel and Gretel, and Alice in Wonderland.

Here’s the final after the studies I did for my collage project for Analogue Media! I decided to combine different aspects from some of my favourite studies into this, would’ve tried to take a better photo of it but it seems I can’t find it.. oh well 😅

Anyways, here’s a colourful beach party with some unicorn-seahorse.. things? My prof thought it would work well as a sticker pack! Maybe in the future...

Here are studies for my third assignment in Analogue Media, creating collages with the theme being dreams! Technically I had to do 10, but my first one was so bad, so no one will see it hehe 🤭

Here is my final assignment from Illustrative Concepts 2! It was ‘Synthesis’ - we had to combine 2 things (a thing + an action) into one thing, I did mine based on Listening + Sadness. It’s headphones with the earmuffs as clouds, and the wire carrying music notes at one end with rain coming out the other (almost like what happens when you listen to a sad song hehe) 🌧️💙🎧

My final for my second project, after doing all my watercolour and gouache studies of animals I chose to make an illustration with the graphic salamander, it was my favourite! 🦎 👁️‍🗨️

Fanart of... a pen?!

Another exercise from Illustrative Concepts 2! This time I had to make fanart for some type of mundane object, and I chose my favourite drawing pen: the Micron! I wanted to highlight the specific colour of the barrel and its Japanese origin with cherry blossoms, and of course, I used the actual pens to draw this!
